We are currently searching for experienced Architectural Technologist and Constructing Architects who are willing to turn compelling concepts into beautiful buildings
Responsibilities:
• Drive conversations and/or coordination with technical specialists and consultant teams to support the progress of the design in DD and later project stages.
• Collaborate with the internal design team to develop innovative solutions to complex technical and design challenges.
• Produce design sketches together with the project architect to defend BIG’s design intent throughout all project stages.
• Produce detailed documentation and technical drawings required for the later stages of the project.
• Proactively review project documentation from external consultants and collaborators.
• Support and advise on the development of systems and procedures that encourage and promote technical excellence across the assigned projects.
• Report to the project architect on design and construction aspects and the project manager on operations, contractual and administrative matters related to the project.
The Ideal candidate:
• Have 3-5 years of studio experience behind you, preferably in DD and later project stages.
• Have knowledge and experience with 3D modelling tools such as Revit and Rhino to communicate design ideas through sketches and technical drawings
• Extensive experience of technical design development, delivery and construction.
• Have a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working.
• Have interest in finding new ways to integrate digital tools into the AEC industry.
• Be able to take initiative in response to direction or instruction.
• Excellent communication skills, spoken and written.
• Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and under pressure, and excellent time management skills.
• Clear understanding of the creative design process through all project stages.
