Do You Want a Key Role with Major Impact on Gubra’s Drug Discovery Pipeline Strategy?

At Gubra, we have experienced continuous success and growth since our start in 2008. Now we are ready for the next major leap forward. As such, we are establishing a dedicated pharmacology function in our biotech unit to support drug discovery projects with the design, interpretation, and execution of in vivo pharmacology studies and model development. You will head and further develop this function in close collaboration with the R&D leadership team, of which you are a member.

High-impact Role Across Strategy and Hands-on Scientific Engagement

In this newly established and versatile key role you will define and drive the pharmacology strategy for Gubra’s drug discovery projects. As leader you will show present, inspiring and motivating leadership in combination with hands-on scientific engagement, supporting discovery projects from proof-of-concept to development candidate selection.

More specifically, you will design and interpret in vivo pharmacology studies, ensure model translatability, and lead study execution at Gubra’s own CRO and at external CROs. Your primary tasks include:

  • Shaping Gubra’s drug discovery pipeline strategy as part of the R&D leadership team
  • Providing strategic and scientific guidance on the design, coordination, and interpretation of in vivo pharmacology studies
  • Establishing robust PK/PD understanding and bridging in vitro–in vivo correlations across discovery programs
  • Defining and applying relevant, translational animal models to support robust, data-driven decision-making
  • Building and leading a high-performing pharmacology team within the biotech unit
  • Ensuring high-quality study execution and alignment with discovery objectives through close collaboration with Gubra’s internal CRO and external CRO partners
  • Integrating pharmacology data into overall project strategies through effective cross-organizational collaboration and dialogue
  • Providing scientific due diligence support for the evaluation of external science, assets, and innovation opportunities
  • Representing [xxxxx]externally at scientific meetings and in collaborations

PhD with 10+ Years of Experience in Preclinical and Early Drug Discovery

To succeed in this role, you must be able to think visionary while applying structure and making decisions. Additionally, you will need your optimistic “can-do, yes-it’s-possible” attitude.

Equally important is your ability to deliver top-class results through close cross-organizational collaboration, demonstrating strong communication skills - including the ability to translate complex scientific information for audiences with diverse backgrounds. Additionally, your profile includes:

  • A PhD in pharmacology, physiology, or a related biomedical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience in preclinical and early drug discovery
  • A strong track record in in vivo pharmacology, PK/PD relationship analysis, and translational model development
  • Demonstrated ability to design, interpret, and manage in vivo studies conducted at internal or external CROs
  • Strong ability to integrate pharmacological, PK/PD, and in vitro data to guide project decisions and candidate selection
  • Solid understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, including modelling, dose-response relationships, and translation to clinical context
  • AI curiosity and preferably some experience from using AI as a tool
  • Motivation for developing your leadership skills

Your New Workplace

Your new workplace will be Gubra’s headquarters located in the Folehave Forest in Hørsholm, Denmark. Here, you will lead a team currently consisting of two Scientists, with more to follow as you develop the pharmacology function and expand your team.

The R&D leadership team consists of the Chief Science Officer (to whom you report), the VP for Pharmaceutical Research, the Director for Project Management, the Director for Computational Drug Discovery, and the Director for Discovery and Innovation.
