Do you want to play a key role in securing the global energy sector? We are looking for a strategic and hands-on CISO to lead our cybersecurity agenda and ensure that digital risk management is embedded across the business.
Your position
As our new CISO, you will be a vital part of Semco Maritime’s digital transformation, where cybersecurity is a top priority. Reporting directly to the CIO, you will join the global IT leadership team and take ownership of our information security strategy.
You will lead a team of 3 skilled specialists and be responsible for driving and implementing strategic and operational cybersecurity initiatives across the organization.
You will play a key role in ensuring that Semco’s security frameworks meet evolving requirements such as NIS2 and ISO 27001, while enabling secure innovation, particularly in our cloud environments.
This role requires a strong business mindset and the ability to navigate across organizational stakeholders and levels as you will operationalize, implement, and ensure compliance with the necessary technical measures required to comply with Semco’s contracts.
You will ensure the necessary reporting to the management and thereby that important decisions are made on an informed basis and updated picture of the current risk and threats.
Location: Esbjerg or Nordhavn. The position is full-time, you can expect to travel 10 – 15 days per year.

Your tasks & responsibilities
As CISO you will be responsible for Semco´s Security Roadmap -
Prioritizing initiatives based on business value and risk reduction.
Your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Lead the ISO 27001 recertification and scope extension process.
- Ensure Semco’s full compliance with the NIS2 directive.
- Deliver transparent cybersecurity KPI reporting to senior leadership.
- Own and maintain the company’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide risk-based advice across the business and ensure a holistic, pragmatic approach to information security.
Your Profile
We’re looking for a business-oriented and proactive leader with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership. You are comfortable operating across strategic, tactical, and operational levels and can engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
To succeed in this role, we expect that you have:
- Solid experience from a similar cybersecurity leadership role.
- Proven track record of building and managing information security programs.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIS2, and risk management frameworks.
- Understanding of how cybersecurity aligns with data privacy and regulatory requirements.
- One or more relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CISA.
- Excellent communication skills in English – Danish is a plus but not a requirement.
