The Localization Management team considers civil society is a key driver of change. Therefore, we engage and support civil society to have the agency, space and capacity to fulfil rights of people affected by conflict and displacement. Out of the headquarters in Copenhagen, we provide strategic, analytical, and operational support to their engagement at local, regional and transnational levels. Our team also leads DRC's longstanding engagement with diaspora communities globally.

Since 2010, DRC has engaged directly with diverse diaspora communities to strengthen their engagement in countries of origin, transit and residence. We believe that diaspora actors play a vital role in humanitarian assistance, recovery and development in their countries of origin.
About the internship
Join our localization management team and contribute to enhancing communication across various platforms.
As an intern, you'll be supporting DRC's external and internal communications, as well as supporting with admin tasks. Your responsibilities include supporting social media management, newsletter editing, crafting engaging social videos for digital platforms, and creating content focused on localization and diaspora. Your daily tasks will encompass:

About you
To successful in this role, we are seeking candidates currently enrolled in a master's program in communication studies, Multimedia Design and Communications, PR, Journalism, or related fields, demonstrating a keen interest and/or experience in the humanitarian sector.
Additionally, students pursuing a graduate-level degree in Development Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or other relevant social science studies, coupled with hands-on experience in communication, social media, design, and digital communication, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please note that if you do not have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa), you will need to apply for it should you be selected for the internship. About the internship
Join our localization management team and contribute to enhancing communication across various platforms.
As an intern, you'll be supporting DRC's external and internal communications, as well as supporting with admin tasks. Your responsibilities include supporting social media management, newsletter editing, crafting engaging social videos for digital platforms, and creating content focused on localization and diaspora. Your daily tasks will encompass:
Content creation and promotion:
- Support the creation and promotion of engaging content (copy, newsletter, videos, infographics, factsheets) using tools like InDesign and Canva, adhering to DRC's corporate identity.
- Monitor social media channels and digital platforms and share inspiring best practices of localization an diaspora human interest stories.
- Support with graphic design of fact sheets, infographics and other communications materials for online and offline use.
Diaspora Storytelling:
- Contribute to researching and drafting compelling human-interest stories on diaspora engagement and localization efforts of DRC for website and online channels.
- Conduct interviews with diaspora members and local organizations to showcase impactful work.
Reports and Research Dissemination:
- Support in conducting desktop research
- Support in distributing new policies, reports and research findings.
- Extract key messages for targeted promotion and dissemination through digital media platforms.
Communication support for events:
- Prepare and disseminate event notices.
- Support outreach to diaspora organizations through digital and offline events.
Meetings and internal communication:
- Assist in organizing meetings and appointments.
- Produce and distribute meeting minutes.
- Editing and publishing internal news on the organization’s intranet and internal newsletter

- Be fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience in graphic design, video and content production for digital platforms is an added value.
It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university for the duration of the internship period in order to be considered for the internship.
We offer
- Contract length: 4 to 6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue
- Workplace: DRC Headquarters located at Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen
- Start date: End of January/beginning of February 2026. We can be flexible on the start date.
- Working hours: Approximately 32 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.
The internship is not paid but we offer:
- 2 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated.
- Free lunch in our canteen (subject to our canteen being open)
- Free participation in our Summer/Winter party (subject to dates)
