Do you want to help reduce conflicts and the consequences of the use of weapons and do you have an interest in information management? Then you may be our new intern in the HDP sector for the spring semester.
Who are we?
Humanitarian Disarmament & Peacebuilding (HDP) is one of DRC’s four core sectors, specializing in Humanitarian Mine Action and Peacebuilding. HDP’s work is guided by the Safer Communities approach, aiming to strengthen community resilience and build local capacities to reduce and remove weapons-related risks and the factors that may result in the use of weapons. HDP achieves this through Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) activities, focusing on landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW), and Peacebuilding programs. These programs build on communities’ visions, capacities and resources through conflict-sensitive, participatory, and inclusive processes that address conflict, safety, and security at the local level. This work is vital in enabling refugees, internally displaced people, and other communities to return home after conflict, reclaim land, and support long-term development.
About the internship
The HDP intern will support information management and provide general support to the HDP HQ team. You will have the opportunity to work independently on a variety of tasks related to your field of study and gain a broad introduction to the work of a headquarters that oversees HMA and Peacebuilding programs in more than 20 countries. You will be working closely with the Student Assistant in the team.

About you
To be successful in this role you should be detail-oriented, confident in Excel, able to work independently and in a team, and have a strong interest in Humanitarian Mine Action and/or peacebuilding work.

It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university for the duration of the internship in order to be considered for the internship.

Contract length: 4-6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue
Workplace: DRC Headquarters located Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen Ø
Start date: February 16th, 2026. We can be flexible on the start date.
Working hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.

Please note that if you do not have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa), you will need to apply for it should you be selected for the internship. You will be working closely with the Student Assistant in the team.
Tasks include:
- Manage and analyze monthly mine action outputs from country programs and present the data in Excel.
- Support information collection for internal processes such as grants management and proposal development.
- Serve as a point of contact for ad hoc administrative support from country and regional offices or HQ.
- Collect data and develop fact sheets, infographics, and other graphic content.
- Maintain and update file storage systems (e.g., organizing and disseminating reports and reviews systematically).
- Support the organization of meetings and internal events; take and distribute minutes.
- Assist in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) activities, including handling output indicators and data collection

About you
To be successful in this role you should be detail-oriented, confident in Excel, able to work independently and in a team, and have a strong interest in Humanitarian Mine Action and/or peacebuilding work.

Moreover, we also expect that the intern :
- Is effective in using Office 365 and has intermediate/advanced level of Excel and other data tools such as SharePoint.
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Is systematic and well-organized in task management.
- Pays attention to detail and takes initiative to complete tasks.
- Is fluent in written and spoken English (additional languages like Arabic, French, or Spanish are an asset).
- Has a keen interest in information management, disarmament and peacebuilding, humanitarian and development work, and international affairs.
It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university for the duration of the internship in order to be considered for the internship.

The internship is not paid but we offer:
- 2,08 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated
- Free lunch in our canteen
- Free participation in our summer party
