The position is fixed for 4 years and is open for appointment from 1st of January 2026.

The Laboratory of Molecular and Translational Pharmacology (MolPharm) at the Department of Biomedical Sciences (BMI) offers a dynamic and social work environment, where students, postdocs, technicians, and scientists from various cultures work together on a variety of interdisciplinary projects primarily centered on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Your job at MolPharm is set in an open and inclusive environment and will consist of varied tasks, be hands-on, and provide you with an opportunity to expand both your professional and interpersonal skill sets.
At Molpharm, our focus is GPCRs and related proteins, which are involved numerous physiological and pathophysiological processes and account for over 30% of targets for currently approved drugs. The Autzen group utilizes a range of methods (e.g. pharmacology, cell- and structural biology) with the goal of understanding various aspects of GPCR function.

Your tasks
In close collaboration with the researchers in the Autzen Group and the rest of MolPharm, you will participate in various research projects. You will run GPCR signalling and binding assays, purify proteins, and perform cloning of DNA constructs. You will further organize, and plot collected assay data.
As our laboratory technician you will also carry out several laboratory maintenance tasks, e.g., coordination of laboratory safety and equipment maintenance with other technicians, assist in the implementation of the LEAF program (Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework), be the primary contact to suppliers of consumables specific to the Autzen Group, handling invoices upon goods receival, preparation of common laboratory reagents, handling of cell culture, keeping records of reagents, vectors, and frozen cell stocks in the lab inventory and other daily lab routines, and onboard new lab members.

Terms of salary and employment
Your employment will be at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The position is full-time (37 hours per week) and for 4 years, and it is open for appointment from 1st of January 2026.
Employment as laboratory technician will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 4.
Depending on qualifications a supplement may be negotiated.

Profile

- Hold a degree as laboratory technician (academy profession degree or similar).
- Are self-motivated and good at working independently with an interest for expanding your skills and learning new methods.
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills and an interest in working in an international team.
- Have good English communication skills, both oral and written.
- Are organized and keep an accurate record of laboratory procedures, reagents, and results.
- Have experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable experience and skills:
- Experience with plate-based bioassays (e.g fluorescence and bioluminescence).
- Experience with cloning (PCR techniques etc).
- Experience with protein purification techniques, such as affinity -and size exclusion chromatography.
- Experience with radioligand binding assays.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics software such as SnapGene.
- Experience with software for plotting and treating data, e.g. GraphPad Prism.
