The team is part of the Manufacturing Department responsible for preparation of buffer and media for the production of Drug Bulk Intermediate (DBI) / Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) for pre-clinical, clinical and commercial use. The team delivers buffer and media for four of our five production lines that are running 24/7.
The team currently consists of 35 technicians and operational scientists as well as three Team Leader
The position
As an Operational Scientist in the solution preparation team you will be supporting the team many aspects of support activities related to production and delivery of the needed buffers and media.
Preferably you have experience with the processes of preparation of buffer and media in order to provide the right support. This means that you can master numerous tasks and coordinate these in respect to both the technicians and leaders. In this position, you will have a broad area of influence and will coorperate with many stakeholders across our organization.
The work hours as an Operational Scientist is primarily scheduled on dayshift, and it is expected of you to participate on an on call duty phone roster to ensure support during weekends.
Primary tasks:
- Daily coordination with operational scientist’s from other production teams
- Plan buffer and media preparation for according to master plan and production needs
- Support the production team when questions related to buffer/media preparation arise
- Initiate and support deviations related to solution/media.
- Participate in planning meetings for projects with project scientist’s and managers
- Be one point of contact for various projects
- Process confirmation
- Review of BPR´s finalized buffers/medias
- Participate in and facilitate writing work instructions and mfg. trainings
Experience and competencies
The ideal candidate holds an MSc in Engineering/downstream purification or Biochemistry or similar and experience within the production area in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as:
- +3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry working in an GMP environment
- Solid knowledge of working with preparation of buffers and media
- A basic Upstream and downstream/purification understanding
- Strong communication skills (English)
- Strong collaboration skills
- Experience with LEAN
- Can cope with a high work pace in a dynamic environment
- Structured and analytical oriented
- Flexible
