We are now looking for a Global Real Estate Investment Manager to join our Industrial Real Estate (IRE) team. The IRE team is responsible for delivering the regional real estate agenda across an extensive and growing portfolio. The global real estate strategy targets significant growth within the Fulfilled by Maersk service offering, i.e. fulfilment warehouses, cold store logistics, depots and multipurpose facilities across the globe while securing efficient and effective real estate assets for our business and colleagues. Typical projects in IRE include finding the right strategy for our assets (lease, own, develop), investments, divestments, lease acquisitions, project development, project management, and space optimization.
As the Global Real Estate Investment Manager you'll be responsible for our industrial and logistics real estate projects across the globe, ranging from greenfield developments, lease acquisitions and negotiations while also taking part in developing the strategy together with the product owners and the global real estate team.

Key Responsibilities:
As Global Real Estate Investment Manager you will be responsible for developing the process for real estate investments – both internally in IRE and in the Maersk organization. You will participate and execute IRE agenda, and support the ambitious growth strategy for our “Fulfilled by Maersk” service offering. Thus, previous experience within real estate investments, preferably in the Industrial and Logistics category, is a must. The role entails a global scope of the Maersk Logistics & Service (L&S) sector and requires participation in the development of a structured and competitive strategy.
In IRE you will be part of a global team of real estate professionals, but you will be based in the HQ team located in Copenhagen but will equally be working with the other real estate colleagues across the globe.
Investment Control
- Manage global investments incl. transactions that involve sale-and-lease-back structures
- Oversee and govern all asset related investments (lease vs. buy decisions)
- Collaborate with Investment Analysis team to further define the requirements for Investment Proposals and business case developments
- Developing governance structure incl. financial models for investment proposals
- Be a key link between the central real estate function and the local execution of real estate projects.
Market Engagement
- Set up process for how to engage with capital markets and investor community
- Setting up investor network for Maersk properties
- Undertake continued evaluation of industrial and logistics real estate capital markets to ensure the market competitiveness of Maersk real estate transactions to support its contract logistics aspirations.
- Provide business intelligence and market information on the status of the industrial and logistics real estate market, trends, and new development opportunities.
We are looking for
- Solid real estate experience in the industrial and logistics category. Cross-border experience in a client or agency role would be beneficial.
- Significant exposure to Industrial, and Logistics real estate asset class.
- Capital markets transaction management experience with ability to: negotiate commercial terms; undertake due diligence and close transactions in line with corporate policies
- Strong knowledge of investment valuation and financial/investment analysis techniques
- Understanding of real estate trends, best practices in the capital markets.
- A finance or business-related education and/or a real estate related degree/designation like MRICS.
You have a refined financial, communication and interpersonal skills. You get excited by taking an active part in transforming our organization to further support our customers’ needs. You are open-minded and you challenge both your surroundings and yourself, to continuously improve and reach the next level. You have a strong personal drive, and you will take an active part in the execution needed.
You are good at solving complex business problems in a structured and analytical manner. You can conduct deep financial analysis and effectively communicate the conclusions, e.g. making executive summaries of possible strategies for presentation to senior management.
