Head of Sustainability
Are you passionate about developing a sustainable agenda, and do you want to become part of a global and ambitious company in a newly established position?
As Head of Sustainability at KMC, you will proactively set the direction for the ESG agenda. Moreover, you will be responsible for structuring and organising sustainable initiatives to support KMC’s future growth. You must ensure a consistent and ambitious focus on sustainable activities.
In addition, you are responsible for describing the goal, the roadmap, and the process, which involves an overview of all current and future sustainable activities. Once the framework is completed, the activities must be implemented and closely monitored, and the progress must be communicated internally and externally.
With direct report to the CEO of KMC, you will engage with the Executive Management Team to embed sustainability into the organisation and drive systemic changes. Furthermore, you are responsible for ensuring that KMC meets the future EU CSRD regulations. This will be done in close cooperation with Finance, HR, Quality, etc.
Your main tasks are:
You have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience from a similar position within corporate sustainability/CSR/ESG. Moreover, you understand the new CSRD legislation and the EU Taxonomy.
You also have experience managing, developing, and evaluating sustainability initiatives, e.g., climate activities, and can drive different sustainability projects across the organisation. Furthermore, it is expected that you have a broad knowledge of key topicssuch as climate change, sustainable materials, renewable energy, and supply chain engagement.
Your educational background can be from a broad spectrum of educations, e.g. business development, commercial or technical. Experience within the area is more important than the educational background.
You have a structured way of working and can create an overview, but most importantly, you can take the lead in the area with good power, assertiveness, some good charisma, and a strong drive. In addition, you work with an eye for the broad picture and the small details and thrive in a job with many stakeholders at several organisational levels.

- Responsible for describing the sustainable impact of replacing animal-based ingredients with KMC’s product portfolio of potato ingredients
- Having a focus on the quantitative and financial impact of sustainable initiatives
- Responsible for further developing the sustainability agenda in KMC to ensure that KMC can turn this into a commercial advantage
- Responsible for developing and strengthening KMC’s sustainability strategy, as well as the yearly sustainability report, carbon footprint report, and CSRD report
- Input to group policies associated with sustainability
- Ensure the right decisions are made about scopes 1, 2, and 3
- Secure that KMC is on top of the newest sustainability directions and legislation
- Act as project manager for projects across the organisation
- Define costs and benefits to identify the most relevant projects
