We are looking for a seasoned HSSE Leader to accelerate the transformation of Maersk into the Global Integrator as we rapidly expand our landside logistics footprints and capabilities. This leader is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for continuous improvement of HSSE and Business Resilience across the global businesses of “Fulfilled” and “Transported” by Maersk (FbM & TbM) operational landscapes
Responsibilities
- Lead a global team of functional experts spanning HSSE and Business Resilience.
- Create a culture of care and inclusion, where diverse voices are heard, and people feel safe to speak up.
- Maintain and develop structure and system that enables continuous identification and management of risk, protecting people from serious harm, while securing our customers’ cargo and supply chains.
- Ensure strong cohesion between business and functional needs and objectives by building effective working relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring alignment of activities and priorities.
- Ensure suitable standards are set and implemented globally that will protect people and protect our customer’s supply chains under our care, while considering regional or country variations (eg legislation)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide the necessary tools and guidance to employees that will reduce or eliminate risks at the frontline.
- Provide assurance at relevant levels to ensure expected standards are being met and ensure there are actions taken to address the gaps.
- Ensure the teams are suitably qualified and have the needed skills and training, while continuously improving their competence levels in partnership with our People Function
- Engage and inspire teams globally, both those under direct and indirect line management to collaboratively lift the standards across our operations
- Collaborate with Executive leaders across Maersk to share and build knowledge and expertise, routinely and constructively challenging the status quo to lift the bar higher across Maersk
- Stay connected to industry trends and regularly seek external knowledge and inspiration, to spark innovation and creativity in finding new and better ways of doing things
- Get involved in relevant projects and tasks being part of the Global Safety & Resilience Leadership Team
- International travel as per the Business needs.
What you bring
- Proven track record of building and leading HSSE capabilities at a global scale, preferably also with Business Resilience (Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management)
- Proven track record in large global organizations, with a preference for experience in logistics- related businesses and organizations
- University degree in fields of study associated with a role (Health & Safety, Security, Risk, Crisis, etc.) or equivalent is desirable
- Collaborative and able to connect and create followership across a wide variety of stakeholders across different geographies and levels
- Strong articulation skills, and experience in engaging with C-suite effectively
