Head of Logistics Transformation, Logistics Division

The Head of Logistics Transformation role is a key strategic role in DFDS’s Logistics division, which makes half of DFDS’s revenue. You will lead a department currently made of two teams and a project manager and comprising around 10 employees. You will report to the Executive Vice President and Head of the Logistics Division.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
- Steer and ensure success of Logistics’ standardisation program, key enabler to the rapid growth in the DFDS’s Logistics division
- Execute and update digital freight forwarding strategy in collaboration with the technology division
- Develop pricing strategy and digital tools for the Logistics division by leading the pricing team
- Manage internal and external stakeholders as well as team members
The role is based in Copenhagen. This is senior level role.

The Head of Logistics Transformation role is a key strategic role in DFDS’s Logistics division, which makes half of DFDS’s revenue. You will lead a department currently made of two teams and a project manager and comprising around 10 employees. You will report to the Executive Vice President and Head of the Logistics Division.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
- Steer and ensure success of Logistics’ standardisation program, key enabler to the rapid growth in the DFDS’s Logistics division
- Manage the Standardisation PMO team, which consists of the Head of PMO and a couple of reports
- Update Logistics Management team and Executive Management of DFDS on program
- Support PMO team in managing and executing on Standardisation project portfolio
- Execute and update digital freight forwarding strategy in collaboration with the technology division
- Execute and update as needed vision and strategy for end-to-end digital logistics
- Build demand for DFDS Logistics services through digital channels
- Oversee digitalisation and automation projects run by department’s project managers throughout the Logistics end-to-end process.
- Develop pricing strategy and digital tools for the Logistics division by leading the pricing team
- Protect margins throughout the division by ensuring correct price calculations including surcharges
- Digitalise pricing to speed up sales process and enable connectivity to internal and external systems and platforms
- Pave the way for more advanced pricing e.g. through analytics
- Manage internal and external stakeholders as well as team members
- Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the company at different levels of the organisation and backgrounds such as colleagues in local Logistics business units and colleagues in the Technology & Innovation
- Partner with external companies such as tech companies to accelerate digitalisation, e.g. by exploring collaboration and sourcing projects as well as negotiating contracts and partnership agreements
The role is based in Copenhagen. This is senior level role.

The ideal candidate
- Experienced project manager with excellent project management skills (Execution of establish project governance, identify, and involve needed stakeholders at all levels, execution)
- Experience with managing and developing a team
- Logistics experience is a benefit, but not a must
- Relevant professional experience e.g., from management consulting or in-house strategy or business development function
- Ms.c. or similar level in for instance business administration, technology or strategy, but could also be from a technical university
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Advanced PowerPoint
- 5-10 years of working experience, including significant exposure to executive managers
- Full professional proficiency in English
