We are looking for a scientist to join our Histology & NGS department. You will be responsible for delivering high quality histology data from our pre-clinical disease models, including optimizing multiplex IHC or ISH. You are driven by teamwork and cross-functional collaboration to solve challenging research tasks in our dynamic and energetic organization.
The Histology & NGS department consists of a highly competent and dedicated team of researchers and laboratory technicians. We support our Contract Research Organization (CRO) business as well as internal and partnered drug discovery projects by conducting a broad variety of high-quality quantitative histological analyses as well as NGS. Our focus is on the metabolic scientific field within obesity, CNS, NASH, diabetes, and fibrotic diseases related to the kidneys and cardiovascular system. AI and automatizations are high on our agenda, and we strive to always work smarter.

We are looking for a scientist to join our Histology & NGS department. You will be responsible for delivering high quality histology data from our pre-clinical disease models, including optimizing multiplex IHC or ISH. The Histology & NGS department consists of a highly competent and dedicated team of researchers and laboratory technicians. As our new scientist, your tasks will include:
- Coordination and support of histology experiments, including supervision of lab technicians.
- Perform data analysis, interpretation, review, and reporting of study results.
- Run and optimize a variety of histological techniques and stainings with focus on CNS, including immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and multiplex immunofluorescence.
- Contribute to the continuous development of the in-situ hybridization and image analysis platform, including taking part in automatization, digitalization and AI implementation.
- Communicating key findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participating in internal innovation processes and idea generation.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary environment with in vivo pharmacology, assay, imaging, NGS, spatial transcriptomics and computational scientists.
Professional qualifications:
- A PhD degree, e.g., in molecular/cell-biology, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical science.
- Experienced with histology including immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and multiplex immunofluorescence. Experience with spatial transcriptomics is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Background in optimization on several technical platforms.
- Preferably a background/interest within CNS or the metabolic space. Experience with CNS histology is an advantage but not a requirement.
