Right now, we are looking for a colleague who wants to join our team and build a career within our purchasing department at our Headquarter. We picture the right candidate being energetic and proactive while at the same time being good at creating relations and having strong willpower.
The role
As a buyer at Actona Group, you will be responsible for your own supplier portfolio for which you will maintain and develop existing partnerships as well as cultivate new relationships. Your tasks will be complex at times, and you will need a sharp eye for prioritisation to meet deadlines, fulfil customer expectations and secure maximum speed.
Commercial insight and a winning mentality are key as you will be a vital part of price-, quality-, capacity- and supplier contract negotiations. You will be in reference to a Head of Purchase and working with a team of both internal purchase coordinators and buyers.

You have a strong passion for your work and are driven by results. You work well in teams and are not afraid of making decisions. You are self-driven and independent. Communication is key, both internally and externally. You will be working with primarily Asian suppliers, therefore, it is important that you are able to be respectful of cultural differences, as well as being fluent in English.
You understand tradesmanship, have commercial insight and have experience working in purchasing from another trading company.

Your key responsibilities
- Development of commercially strong furniture for customers worldwide based on input and direction from the product development organisation and our skilled salesforce.
- Development of the supplier portfolio – including building strong partnerships with existing and new suppliers, in order for us to always have capacity that matches customer demand and the market’s best prices.
- Securing the daily operations and supplier performance are in sync with KPIs.
- Visiting suppliers in Asia - 50-70 travel days a year.
- Negotiation of prices, quality, capacity and supplier contracts
- Collaboration across the company with a focus on optimising the overall business.
- Determination of goals and direction for your own area of responsibility – based on Actona Group’s purchasing strategy along with your Head of Purchase.
Who are you?

- Relevant Bachelor- or Master’s education.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Open to travelling 50-70 days a year.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience.
