As Search and Evaluation Director you will have an important and independent role in the execution of Novo Nordisk’s external innovation strategy. This involves keeping up to date on preclinical and clinical stage external opportunities within diabetes and obesity. You will be engaged in partnering events like BIO-Europe, BIO, JPM and also more scientifically focused conferences within your therapy areas.
When potential opportunities are identified, it is your role to lead the in-depth evaluation in collaboration with the relevant expert colleagues and, when appropriate, lead the process towards a presentation to the relevant governance body and ultimately the due diligence in support of the final steps of the business development process. You will be the central point of contact for internal and external communication, connecting people and ensuring knowledge sharing across functions.
Qualifications
You hold a degree within natural sciences, preferably at PhD level, and have +8 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, within project management, business development, licensing, or a senior role in R&D. You have a solid knowledge of the drug development processes. Experience within diabetes or obesity research is a prerequisite.
As a person you enjoy taking initiative and have a strong personal drive and dedication, and you have an entrepreneurial mindset. You have a strong ability to manage projects and have a natural curiocity to ask the right questions. You show strong interpersonal skills and are able to collaborate cross-functionally, across organizations and cultures.
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, including internationally is required.
About the Department
Search and Evaluation is part of Global R&D Business Development in the newly formed SVP area; Corporate Development. We are responsible for the search and evaluation efforts across most therapeutic areas in Novo Nordisk. Responsibilities span from precense at relevant conferences to find opportunities over leading evaluation and Due Diligences to presenting to relevant governance boards.We are a team of 10 colleagues with half of us based in Måløv, Denmark and the other half in USA and Asia. We have key stakeholders globally across Novo Nordisk with a majority in R&D. As a team, we have extensive experience from the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, from different disciplines.Working at Novo Nordisk
