Student Employee for Legal Team

Develop your skill set during your studies and gain valuable and unique hands-on experience from one of the fastest-growing organizations within Energy Trading - incommodities

Are you detail- and process-oriented? Do you thrive in being in contact with various stakeholders – external as well as internal? Would you like to be part of building a global legal team that supports the organization’s commercial ambitions?

If you can tick off a yes to the above, then you might be the perfect match for our newly established role as Student Employee in our Legal team.

Detail-oriented and structured profile with a commercial mindset and interest in energy and commercial law

As Student Employee in our Legal team, you will join a global energy trading organization that, since its beginning 5 years ago, has undergone tremendous growth in terms of markets, trades, and employee numbers. This rapid growth comes along with a lot of tasks and projects for our Legal team and therefore, we need a new colleague.

In this role, you will support the development of the Legal team at incommodities and ensure a high service level to the business. You will ensure deliverables on various projects (including contract management and legal operations) and assist the organization with various legal support requests. As part of the Legal team, you will also have a close collaboration with the Market Access team, responsible for entering new markets and you will gain insight into crucial aspects of our business.

Your journey as Student Employee, Legal

When you join incommodities, you do not just join a company – you join a journey! We will of course make sure you get the best possible introduction to our organization and business. Therefore, you will start out on our thoroughly planned onboarding program where you will get introduced to the business, your tasks, and the organization in general. This will all be done together with the group of new colleagues that are joining at the same time as you. Down the line, the goal is for you to provide high-quality legal support to the business and drive and manage your own projects, tasks, and areas of responsibility. We, of course, offer flexible working hours so you have the best opportunity to manage both studies and work without having to compromise either.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Legal team with contract management tasks (signature requirements, archiving, maintenance of the legal archive and other legal documentation)
  • Assist the Legal team with various ad hoc legal matters
  • Take an active role in establishing legal operations for the Legal team (improve and develop new processes and procedures to enhance the Legal team's performance)

Qualifications – we imagine that you:

  • Are currently studying a master’s degree in Law (cand. jur) or in Business Administration and Commercial Law (cand.merc.jur)
  • Have a structured and systematic approach to your work
  • Have a strong business acumen and commercial mind-set
  • Have a can-do attitude and see value in both small-scale and large-scale projects and tasks
  • Are fluent in English – written and oral
  • Can work 8-16 hrs per week

Personal skills – we expect that you:

  • Are detail-oriented and quality-conscious
  • Have a curious mindset and constantly seek to improve
  • Have strong communication skills and feel confident in sharing your opinion and knowledge
  • Are a team-player who will do what is best for the team and incommodities

What you can expect from us:

  • A steep learning curve
  • A lot of responsibility and support
  • Exceptional colleagues who are bold, honest, ambitious, and the smartest in their field
  • A unique company culture where we live up to our values: Honesty, Transparency, and Rethink and where you don't have to abide by a dress code or a strict hierarchy
  • A bunch of great events - both in the teams and in the entire organization
  • The opportunity to develop both professionally and personally

Our culture
We value a strong social culture with a high frequency of employee events outside the office. We want to win and be the best in class – therefore, you'll be surrounded by like-minded people who are bold, honest, ambitious, and the smartest in their field, and who root for one another, as we value a genuine sense of team spirit. To help each other grow, we use honest and constructive feedback and sparring within and across teams. Personality and cultural fit are important to us because we want you to be happy here. The work culture is relaxed; you don't have to abide by a dress code or a strict hierarchy, so you won't be frustrated with too many rules, policies, or bureaucratic processes.

In other words, incommodities is not your average workplace – we are awesome.

About incommodities

We’re incommodities: One of the fastest growing trading companies in the world. The energy market is transitioning away from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and we take part in making that happen!

At incommodities, we support the transition by acting as the middleman between sellers and buyers of power and gas - we transport energy across borders where it’s needed, or we store it and sell it later, providing a vital function in the value chain from production to consumption. incommodities’ business and decision-making are driven by a deep understanding of the energy markets and based on quantitative analysis and rethinking what we do.

Making incommodities outstanding requires all types of people with different personalities, backgrounds, and approaches to solving different tasks and projects. But one thing connects us: we're fuelled by new ideas and rethinking the status quo.

You can read more about us at incommodities.com

Start date: as soon as possible

We will screen candidates on an ongoing basis and conduct interviews during August – so don’t hesitate to apply if you are interested.
