We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Advisor to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will involve navigating the complex regulatory landscape associated with Power-to-X technologies, ensuring compliance, and strategically influencing policy development to support our mission. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of energy regulations, a passion for sustainability, and the expertise to guide our company through the evolving regulatory environment. This new role will work closely with Topsoe’s Power-to-X business (PtX), Public Affairs (PA) and Communications groups to:Who we’re looking forMonitor, map, evaluate and translate relevant policy developments as well as regulatory frameworks and their impact on PtX’s key objectives to inform PtX’ commercial opportunities and product development on local, national, and international levels Advise stakeholders within PtX, PA and Communications on regulatory opportunities and risks for PtX’s project deployment in key strategic markets Provide input & support to help shape policy efforts including:
Engage with non-governmental stakeholders, such as business associations, NGOs, academia and think tanks to shape views on policy proposals, and actively engage in relevant working groups of such groups Create thought leadership in the PtX space e.g., speak at key events, engage in relevant working groups (e.g. Hydrogen TCP at the IEA) Support sustainability certification and standards efforts with technical review and input Other day-to-day duties as required. Monitor, map, evaluate and translate relevant policy developments as well as regulatory frameworks and their impact on PtX’s key objectives to inform PtX’ commercial opportunities and product development on local, national, and international levelsAdvise stakeholders within PtX, PA and Communications on regulatory opportunities and risks for PtX’s project deployment in key strategic marketsProvide input & support to help shape policy efforts including:
Supporting the Global Public Affairs team in policy prioritization Translating technical and business priorities into policy priorities. Engineering/technical background highly preferred Strong understanding of the technical and economic aspects of PtX technologies and their role in energy transition Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear and simple messages for internal and external stakeholders Strong ability to collaborate and manage stakeholders across cross-functional teams Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Experience with working with trade organizations, NGOs, and governments is a plus Graduate degree in relevant field. Educational background in engineering, law, policy, or business. Engineering preferred. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience working with environmental/energy-related regulations in the US and/or EU, with preference for knowledge of and experience in PtX sector. Engineering/technical background highly preferredStrong understanding of the technical and economic aspects of PtX technologies and their role in energy transitionExcellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear and simple messages for internal and external stakeholdersStrong ability to collaborate and manage stakeholders across cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesExperience with working with trade organizations, NGOs, and governments is a plusGraduate degree in relevant field.
