My name is Miles Johnson and I lead the Data Platform function at Svitzer. I am looking for a Product Owner to join my team. You will be responsible for the delivery of data insights to our international user base through our business intelligence stack and working with our team of developers. You will sit at the intersection of business and technology and driving forward data-driven decision making at Svitzer.

Svitzer is a towage company, which means we help our customers maneuver their larger ships safely and on time in and out of ports. We operate globally. Most of our business is to support container vessels, cargo ships, cruise ships and navy vessels but we also address emergencies like vessels being adrift or offshore fires. Technology as a strong partner to different business areas is key in making our operations run efficiently and to innovate the future of Svitzer. In particular, our ambitious goal to decarbonize our operations fully over the next decade. We are on an exciting journey shaping the future of Technology in Svitzer and defining our role in innovating the industry.

Key Responsibilities

· Own and communicate a vision for the product

· Identify, explore, and analyse business opportunities or pain points.

· Develop, maintain, and regularly communicate the product roadmap

· Engage with stakeholders to capture, refine needs, and synthesise into valuable business outcomes

· Facilitate release management and communications with stakeholders and users

· Support change management efforts in our user base to become more data-driven in their decision making

· Ensure product features continue to be valuable and used or lifecycle out to keep the product lean

· Manage, prioritize items on the product backlog and coordinate the development team

· Act as primary liaison for questions, feedback and/or issues regarding the product

Reporting to the Head of Data Platform, we’re looking for someone with:

· Experience shaping a product vision, building roadmaps and releasing valuable software

· Experience working with agile methodologies to deliver software

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build trust with users and stakeholders

· Experience working with a global and diverse user base, across cultures and timezones

· Experience weighing up and making business trade-offs to drive priority decisions

· Experience working with data and BI solutions in an operational environment (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)

· A curiosity to learn and eagerness to grow, meeting challenges head on and considering innovative solutions.
