Accounting Manager
Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Denmark
Leadership position with responsibility for the accounting area in Denmark.
Knorr-Bremse has recently entered into Denmark via an acquisition of a Danish company, now called Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Denmark ApS. The company was taken over in September 2022 and support functions will be built-up currently. Part of this is an accounting function and a new established position as Accounting Manager in Copenhagen reporting to the Nordic CFO based in Lund, Sweden.
It is a unique opportunity for you as Accounting Manager for Denmark to take ownership of the accounting area, hence be in the driver’ seat in establishing the accounting function. You will as a start employ one accounting professional for the Danish office, and furthermore be supported by a Business Service Center abroad.
The primary focus is to migrate the acquired business from an accounting perspective, hence map the current processes, analyze and create the future structure and efficient processes for the Danish accounting set-up – of course in accordance with the Group framework. Knorr-Bremse uses SAP, and the plan is that the new Danish entity is being migrated to SAP in Q1 2024.
On a more day-to-day perspective your area of responsibility includes:
- Responsible for monthly and yearly closings according to Danish GAAP and IFRS, being in contact with auditors and the HQ in Munich, Germany as the reporting is forwarded directly to HQ.
- Control of entries, and balance sheet account reconciliations. Bridging between Danish GAAP and IFRS for reporting purposes. Journal entries will also be part of this position, especially related to accruals and salaries/wages, but also related to our purchase order progress.
- Responsible for preparing annual reports, board information and tax returns.
- Assist the organization in accounting and VAT issues and being sparring partner to Accounting SSC.
- Participation in the compilation of various financial statements to the Group company and external institutions.
- Expense monitoring and cost center follow up with cost center managers and investigation of deviations.
- Participation in budget and forecasting work.
- Some administrative work and ad hoc tasks.
Independent working – responsible, dynamic and proficient profile
Educationally, you have a background within accounting – could be HD-R, cand.merc.aud. or similar. Referring to experience, you have a proven track record within the accounting profession (preparation of month-end closing/annual financial statement, balance sheets, P/L statements etc.) and you bring experience with IFRS. It is an advantage if you have participated in a upgrade or migration to a new ERP-system.
Although, you enjoy working independently, you are also a team-player and ready to take on hands-on work from time to time. You find it motivating to work in a changing organization and you enjoy improving processes. This goes hand-in-hand with your structured approach to work, as well as your attention to details and your ability to get the job done in due time. You master the English and the Danish language on a high level both verbally/written.
