We are seeking a Data Solutions Architect for APM Terminals & Fleet to be the organizational change leader and champion for data driven innovation and product developments that will form the foundation of the division’s digital evolution.

What You’ll Bring

The Data Solutions Architect for APM Terminals & Fleet is responsible for defining and driving the data products roadmap, architecture and strategy across the 75+ terminals and 700+ vessels across the globe working closely with cross-functional team across business, platform portfolio, regional CIOs and technology stakeholders across the company. You will lead the effort in defining and executing a data & analytics strategy, building a data driven organization and envision innovative and focused approaches to standardize and rollout data products across terminals.

  • Develop and maintain data solution architecture with high standardization and scalability
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with passion for innovation and data growth
  • Data & analytics subject matter expert & mentor to team
  • Drive innovation culture and identify new business opportunities through data analysis
  • Define data architecture for IOT and IT/OT intersection
  • Develop reusable frameworks for data engineering and MLOps
  • Develop standards and review mechanism for high quality and availability
  • Work with business and product leaders to understand requirements and develop strategy
  • Hire and manage teams while improving morale and cohesion
  • Manage technical debt and communicate trade-offs to product owners
  • Develop data & AI bootcamps and pilot frameworks for business and tech teams
  • Handle priorities and communicate expectations to department heads and executives
  • Collaborate with Enterprise & GDA Architecture leaders for interdependencies and best practices.


What You Need to Succeed

Are you a natural bar-raiser: curious and passionate, with a desire to continuously learn more. Do you use this to understand basic business operations and the organizational levers that drive profitable growth. Do you use communication, collaboration and vision to transform from basic BI to insights and AI/ML driven organization.

  • 6-8 years’ experience overall in architecting and developing high-performance enterprise data products Understanding and experience of building data lakes, reusable engineering frameworks for data engineering, data architecture IOT systems and business cases
  • Good knowledge of multi-cloud data ecosystem and build scalable solutions on cloud (Azure, GCP and AWS)
  • Understanding of Big Data Ecosystem (data lake, lake house, data mesh) with real time and batch style data, Spark, Python, Kafka, Hadoop, Databricks, common third-party integration and orchestration tools.
  • A strong passion for adopting and introducing standard, automated and repeatable processes and led teams through fast paced development cycles; committed to automation, agile, lean-startup, continuous delivery approach and reduce total cost of ownership
  • Experience working with open-source ML libraries, cloud based ML services and AutoML tools and strong programming background in python.
  • Experience driving complex tasks and projects to mitigate risk.
  • You carefully evaluate and anticipate risks with mitigations before taking action, clearly articulate options and their impacts/consequences.
  • You course correct when needed, expecting to fail fast and respond efficiently.
  • Ability to facilitate ongoing prioritization discussions, obtain consensus among stakeholders and carry those decisions through to communication materials, with refresh as needed
  • Ability to fully understand business goals and metrics, turn data into insights, and translate requirements into actionable analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, issue resolution, negotiation, and relationship management
  • Ability to present complicated technology concepts in a simple manner, and present key technology challenges or overviews relevant to senior technology leadership (C Level Execs)
  • Strong communication skills (written, oral) and ability to coordinate across a diverse group of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Lead mostly with questions rather than opinions, thriving on the opportunity to own, innovate, create, and constantly re-evaluate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of the shipping and/or logistics industry
  • Working with IOT data and Digital Twin Simulation
