My name is Ekaterina Riegels Hjorth, Head of Business Engagement and Delivery, and I am looking for a Scrum Master to join Svitzer in a newly established role.

You will have an exciting chance to become a part of my team in the Business Engagement and Delivery function.

As a Scrum Master you are an expert facilitator that helps bring the technical and business side of product development together. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of both our business and the products allowing you to guide the Scrum team and help remove obstacles and ensure that these are well anchored in our Business Engagement and Delivery team. With your knowledge on the technical side of product development, you will be a strong partner for the product owners, and you will together ensure to define a balanced product backlog that aligns with the business needs, architecture, design, and delivery towards business goals. Initially, you are expected to be a Scrum Master for two products.

As our new Scrum Master, you will be part of a team that drives IT project delivery and change across Svitzer. In collaboration with Scrum Teams and Product Owners from Commercial and/or Operations you will be creating products to drive operational efficiency as well as products to support our future strategy of taking a lead in our industry within decarbonization. In this role you will get an outstanding opportunity for developing our Technology organization further with regards to product development, agile ways of working and shaping this further together with our team and I.

Key responsibilities

  • Run sprint planning, sprint retrospective, daily scrum, and other scrum events.
  • Work with product owner to refine backlog.
  • Forecast sprint iterations with the product owner and concerned business partners to better understand dependencies between tasks and teams.
  • Guide the team on how to self-organize, prioritize, plan and execute product development
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis on problem solving in a collaborative way.
  • Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution between sprint team members and product owners.
  • Ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities and multiple tasks
  • Work with various stakeholders and promote collaboration
  • Shield sprint teams from outside distractions and help remove obstacles that may impede the team from meeting goals
  • Coach the Team Members on Agile principles and Values and on Scrum practices
  • Communicate with other teams and management on project progress and dependency handling and ensure the transparency of the team
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically

We are looking for

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering change, empowering people, and working alongside a strong Technology team in making Svitzer’s vision for growth, standardization, and efficiency come to life.

You are a certified Scrum Master and have solid experience within the field. You can demonstrate understanding of various agile frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and have hands on experience where you have worked with one or more products as a Scrum Master.

Experience in Product Development Tools such as Azure DevOps is preferred. You are organized and have experience with building plans and roadmaps.

You are creative, have excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artefacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement), and have a demonstrated ability leading agile delivery.

You encourage a team and work in a collaborative manner with all stakeholders using your excellent interpersonal relationship development skills. It is important you communicate in a clear, concise, professional, and direct way and are fluent in English.

Please note, some business travel must be expected.
