Maersk is going through times of unprecedented change and is growing its capability to provide enhanced Cyber Security solutions to support the organization’s Digital Transformation.

We are looking for a Portfolio Manager, reporting to the Cyber Portfolio Director who is passionate about working in an ever-changing environment and can influence changes in ways of working to meet this mammoth task, while delivering effective and cost-efficient solutions.

This role has accountability for Cyber deliverables/workstreams into a specific (or multiple) large scale business initiative(s) for Maersk, ensuring scope is defined, managing the delivery dependencies and risks, and ensuring we understand the impact of aggregate risks to/from other cross cutting business initiatives, keeping agreed activity on track and/or negotiating trade-offs both inter Product and inter platform as required.

More widely, the role forms part of a new function in Cyber: Portfolio Management. Introduction of Portfolio Manager roles will eventually pave way for a futuristic Unified backlog for Cyber - 'One Portfolio, One Backlog, One Priority', being able to align our Cyber Portfolio Vision with the Enterprise strategic objectives. This will enable Value driven prioritization and continuous value delivery with teams doing the right things at the right time, promoting a change-enabled culture (with Product teams flexible to trade-off priorities & resources to fulfil the right demand). [This is a long-term goal that requires assessing & building the capability within Cyber Product teams through Cross-skilling]

As a Portfolio Manager within Cyber Security at Maersk, you will also be exposed to a wide and challenging range of business issues, communicate across geographical and cultural borders that will enable you to build a strong professional network.

You will bring with you a consulting mindset and approach and have an understanding of Agile frameworks in terms of controls and processes. Your communication and collaboration skills will be key to building maturity and capability for enterprise Portfolio Management within Cyber.

Key responsibilities:

  • To act as a single point of contact to the Platforms and into the Cyber Products for key business initiatives in planning, remove abstraction and get clarity end to end across the Platforms
  • To ensure Product deliverables meet requirements of their Portfolio (i.e. M&A, OP2 1/2/3) through clarification and articulation of purpose, business impact, scope & timeline as needed to the Product Owner and Stakeholders community.
  • To report on progress especially with a view to aggregate risk and reviews quarterly scope/progress with Cyber LT & other stakeholders
  • To support and drive automation with Jira and Kanban, and help ease delivery progress through better transparency & visibility of Risks/dependencies
  • To be an ambassador for Cyber and Portfolio management
  • To coach & provide guidance to the Portfolio teams more junior members
  • To support on specific papers for board and quarterly/monthly
  • Assess new opportunities/priorities working closely with other platform owners and feeds input back to Cyber product teams to fine tune changes to roadmap as needed.
  • No direct line management – matrix delivery

What we’re looking for:

  • 10 + years engineering and leadership experience
  • Ability to translate strategy and vision into executable, tangible and delivered outcomes with quantifiable targets, working with Architecture, Product Owners and Engineering managers to ensure a coherent and ambitious plan at Portfolio level.
  • Experience in managing high levels of aggregated delivery risk and ambiguity across multiple simultaneous change initiatives.
  • Experience of delivering Cyber technologies and a solid understanding of the need to embed these technologies and processes into wider tech deliverables (ie NW Hosting End User)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, trusted as a credible and accountable partner. Persuasive, excels at nurturing and helping to build talented, engaged teams that deliver success.
  • Strong track record of implementing and executing highly complex initiatives at speed and with high quality.
