Our software and technology are center stage in creating value for our business and our customers.  We are looking for a Lead UX designer whose years of experience with design strategy, design thinking, enterprise UX, and UX management, will enable them to make a difference in our business.

As a UX lead you will help develop and drive a UX strategy for the Transported By UX team, a team overseeing enterprise applications targeted Maersk Operations.

This role will require you to work closely with an array of different stakeholders in tech and business as well as shipping SMEs. Through this you’ll assess where and how the UX team best can add value and you’ll develop and drive a UX strategy supporting the team and the wider business objectives.

Our Principal UX is going on maternity leave in November and while they are on leave you will also be taking on the daily people management of the 10+ UX designers in Transported by.

You’ll report to the Principal UX designer in Transported By and while they are on maternity leave you’ll report directly to the Senior VP of Transported By Maersk.

Key responsibilities

  • Help develop and drive a UX strategy supporting the business objectives

  • Establish relevant metrics aligned to the UX strategy and actively measuring against them

  • Continuously align with stakeholders ensuring the UX team is working at the right things at the right time

  • Overseeing the design process for all products under Transported By Maersk

  • Collaborate with the rest of the design community within Maersk to ensure a consistent and cohesive experience across Maersk products

  • Promote Design Thinking and a user centric design approach

  • Manage a growing UX team offering leadership and guidance for designers of varying seniority levels

  • Drive the UX efforts for a complex and central area; identifying the UX work needed and help build a vision for the future state 

  • Work closely with Product Owners and Business stakeholders in exploring the problem space and ideation solutions, and drive the research, design, and test – in other words: driving the design of delightful experiences from product conception to launch



To do this job, we imagine you have the following qualifications: 

  • MA/MSc in HCI, Product Design, or a related field with years of experience with desktop experiences, product-, interaction-, and information design

  • Experience being a people manager

  • Familiarity with design software like Sketch, Axure, and Figma – we primarily use Figma

  • A strong and clean visual design sense 

  • Experience working in an agile development process and/or Iterative UX environment – and an environment that is undergoing large change

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset 

  • Ability to work independently with stakeholders while liaising and reviewing with fellow designers

  • Proven ability to collaborate and to communicate ideas and design rationale – verbally and written

  • Experience working with Enterprise UX is a plus
