Job Responsibilities
As a Sous Chef, your tasks will include:
- Assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Preparing and cooking high-quality meals for school canteens
- Supervising kitchen staff and ensuring smooth workflow
- Helping plan menus, production schedules, and food prep
- Ensuring compliance with hygiene and food safety (HACCP)
- Organising stock, deliveries, and inventory control
- Maintaining consistent taste, quality, and presentation
- Stepping in as acting Head Chef when required

Qualifications
We expect that you:
- Have experience as a Sous Chef, Chef, or Senior Cook
- Are structured, reliable, and able to take initiative
- Can lead and support a kitchen team
- Thrive in a busy production kitchen
- Have strong knowledge of food hygiene standards
- Communicate clearly (English is sufficient)
- Are positive, solution-oriented, and quality-focused
Formal chef training is an advantage, but strong professional kitchen experience is equally valuable.
