In this role, you will report to Senior Vice President, Carsten Heine Lund, and lead approximately 100 highly skilled employees across multiple engineering disciplines with 7 direct reports. As Head of Engineering, you will be part of the senior leadership team in Transportation, where we focus on collaborative teamwork and the will to win jointly.
You will play a central role in creating the conditions for people to thrive — encouraging cross‑disciplinary collaboration, promoting shared ownership, and enabling teams to combine their skills to deliver high‑quality solutions for complex infrastructure projects. Our Transportation business spans highways, roads, airports, landscaping, utilities, construction management and supervision, as well as traffic planning and mobility. In this role, you will help shape a cohesive and collaborative environment across all these areas.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Act as a visible role model for [xxxxx]’s values and leadership behaviours, setting clear direction and empowering your leadership team to create a collaborative and accountable culture.
- Lead, coach, and develop heads of discipline, enhancing performance, engagement, and an inclusive, motivating environment that supports sustainable growth.
- Ensure efficient project execution by securing optimal staffing together with your Head of Engineering colleague in Transportation West, addressing technical challenges, and engaging in key customer and senior project meetings.
- Support technical excellence by identifying development needs across disciplines and shaping plans for capability building and talent acquisition.
- Translate strategic growth goals into actionable resource planning in close collaboration with the executing unit and Engineering Design Centre leaders.
