On behalf our client, GlobalConnect we are currently looking for a professional, dedicated Platform Architect with focus on the virtual platforms.
GlobalConnect wants to strengthen their Nordic IT platform team and consequently they are are looking for an architect with a proven track record of engaging in complex platform design- and implementation projects.

Job Responsibilities and Success Criteria
We are seeking a Platform Architect to join our Nordic IT Platform team. In this role, you will take part in design and implementation of solutions primarily focused on our Swedish virtual cloud provider platform. You could also be engaged to support with input to rest of our infrastructure environments across the Nordics.

The Platform Architect will be responsible to bring projects to conclusion, including the development of operating procedures, instruction and training, and required documentation. The role is a technical decision-maker with space for independent judgment, thought, and creativity.

You will…

• Work closely with our Lead Architect on our Swedish Virtual Cloud Provider platform, a platform that sell IaaS towards customers, but also used internally.
• Enable and secure the growth and consistency of this platform.
• Perform advanced server and network assessment and propose designs for robust and scalable solutions
• Take part in migration projects – e.g. NSX-V to NSX-T
• Design and implement new virtual services
• Secure capacity management for storage and backup solutions
• Engage in service development efforts and operational refinement via strong self-starting ability.
• Enable business roadmap for the platform.
• Ensure well-connected architectural blueprints of the platform.
• Can participate in on-call rotation when fully updated on our operational processes

Skills and experience:

• Experience managing medium to large environments including hardware, software, virtualization, OS management, patch distribution, inventory/asset tracking, and network management is highly preferred.
• Solid experience with VMware vCloud Director
• Should be able to do Technical Architecture, Design, Implementation, and setup of Operational processes within many of the area’s below - together with technical product and system responsible:
  • • Cloud Management Platform and multitenancy services (VMware).
    • Compute virtualization (VMware).
    • Network virtualization with L2-L7 network services for example Firewall, Load balancing, NAT, etcetera. (VMware).
    • Data center network (LAN) and Data center Network Interconnect (DCI).
    • WAN network and services.
    • Storage, Block, File and Object storage (SCSI, NVMe, NFS, SMB, S3).
    • Storage network (SAN, Fibre Channel and Ethernet).
    • Data protection, Backup/Restore, Disaster Recovery and Disaster Avoidance.
    • Security (IAM, Encryption at-rest and in-flight, MFA, zero trust, Micro segmentation, VPN etc.).
    • Monitoring (SNMP, Syslog, SMI-S etc.).
    • Hardware (Compute and Storage blueprint’s, server management etc.)
    • Core infrastructure services (AD, DNS, NTP, SMTP etc.).
    
    
  
  
• Experience of working with architectural drawings and high / low level designs
• A strong evangelist for automation and repeatable deployments
• Background In other architectural areas such as network, data center, security, or cloud is a strong plus
