At the heart of any AI application lies the data, which is the most critical factor in the performance of AI and this is where we need you.
You will be part of an innovation culture with a tradition of fast completion of projects, which means that there is a visible link between your results and Ambu’s growth. You will join our Technology research and Image processing team based in Ballerup. You will join and work in close collaboration with an expanding AI team of currently five engineers, with backgrounds ranging from clinical workflow to deep learning specialists, all who work towards innovating modern healthcare by developing AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities as AI Data Engineer
As a data engineer in Ambu’s AI team your key responsibility will be to design and implement a data management system. This system needs to facilitate the secure transfer of video and meta-data from hospitals around the world to Ambu.
Once the data reaches Ambu, it needs to be logged and go through a review and annotation process. You need to design a system that can be customized to the needs of each AI application and with a user-interface that enables doctors and other experts to utilize the system for review. Finally, you need to ensure the anonymization of the data that we receive.
In this role, you will be responsible for the architectural design of this system, implementation, and later maintenance.
If you believe you have what it takes to help us design such a system and join Ambu’s AI team, you will be part of an AI development group that takes the AI from early idea to a mature product ready for implementation. You will get the opportunity to interact with doctors and observe the medical procedures that we are trying to improve with AI and be part of the process to define the next AI opportunity.
Experienced in Data Acquisition and Data Management
To be considered for this position, you may hold a Master of Science with a focus on programming/data management or similar such as MSc in Physics, Engineering and Informatics or Computer Science.
You have min. four years’ experience working with data acquisition or data management. You do not need to have experience with deep learning techniques, only a desire to learn.
You have knowledge and skills to:
• Develop, construct, test and maintain architectures and databases needed for large collections of video and image-data. This can be both on-site or in the cloud.
• Ensure that the developed architecture, supports the requirements of the different AI applications.
• Recommend and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Maintaining or developing tools for annotating collected data.
• Enable access for external users/sites, to upload/edit data in a secure way.
As a person you are highly motivated with an efficient sense of detail. You plan, prioritize, and document your results. Furthermore, using methods and tooling for a structured approach is also natural to you. You have excellent people and teaching skills, to support and guide the data annotation work in collaboration with clinicians and colleagues. You enjoy supporting your team members and have strong collaborative skills to achieve a common goal.
You are fluent in written and spoken English and you are willing to travel approximately 15-20 days per year when feasible and safe.
