The Senior Director, Head of API & EDI Product Management & Platform will have responsibility for end-to-end delivery of Maersk’s direct integration solutions (EDI & API) with customers, partners and third party platforms including Delivery of customer value proposition as relating to EDI/API.Reports to: Head of Maersk.com, Platform Portfolio
Location: Copenhagen (Preferred); also open to other locations like London (UK), East Coast (USA) and Bangalore (India).

The Business Platforms organization is at the forefront of developing cutting edge technologies to improve the customer’s experience with personalized and automated end-to-end digital journeys, that enable Maersk customers to access standardized products and services seamlessly. The Platforms help enable Maersk’s vision to be the Global Integrator of container logistics, connecting and simplifying customers’ supply chains. Additionally, the team creates the foundation to integrate data, systems, and processes, powered by scalable Digital Infrastructure and APIs.
The Business Platform Owner has the overall responsibility for bringing the platform’s vision to life; from setting the strategy, hiring, and developing the best Product Managers in the industry and overseeing the development of multiple innovative software products to create an industry-leading customer experience that will delight our customers around the world.
Purpose of the role - Responsible for defining and delivering our platform strategy for direct integration solutions and products across the Maersk EDI & API channels. This includes managing the customer pipeline for new direct integration initiatives, ownership of EDI/API integration to new or existing 3rd party platforms, Own EDI & API customer support and lead exposure of new EDI and API data products in line with business prioritization and in direct engagement with customers and our tech teams .
Responsibilities
- Lead innovation and thought leadership in our journey to change and digitise the Logistics and Services industry.
- Own and drive direct integration channel strategy (API first) across Maersk products
- Own Maersk EDI applications and strategic development of these
- Own Maersk Developer portal
- Working directly with customers in solving their B2B integrations requirements from a commercial, financial and/or operational perspective
- Lead business implementation and customer change management in as part of new EDI & API infrastructure rolling
- Enable and drive EDI standardization across Ocean and LnS
- Drive innovation and new product solutions to enhance value proposition
- Enable Maersk strategic priorities through EDI/API change roadmaps
- Own and deliver Integration Platform modernization roadmap
- Lead team of PPOs and Product Integration managers with high engagement
- Enable direct EDI and API integration with third party platforms in line with Maersk’s omnichannel strategy
- Facilitate internal EDI/API awareness across global teams to enable further selling of Maersk’s direct integration solutions
- Develop and drive M&A implementation strategy into B2B integration estate.
- Define the platform's long-term strategy and translate it to a data driven operational plan.
- Define the platform's customer centric KPI's and build a closed loop mechanism to monitor and report on these.
- Build partnerships with technology leaders and with a large-scale global technology organization to build cutting edge software solutions that enhance customer experience, launch market-leading products and solutions to create sustainable competitive advantage.
- Hiring and mentoring of top Product Management talent and manage a large-scale Product Organisation.
- Be the customer's ambassador in various Maersk Senior Executive forums.
Accountable for:
- End-to-end delivery of Maersk’s direct integration solutions (EDI & API) with customers, partners and third party platforms
- Delivery of customer value proposition as relating to EDI/API
- Prioritise backlog for delivering industry standards (DCSA)
Consulted about:
- Customer or platform integration solutions and opportunities
- New EDI/API infrastructure implementation
What you bring
- Strong, relevant experience in leading Product Management teams in global Technology organizations.
- Experience identifying and hiring world-class talent.
- Expertise in articulating and executing a customer-centric digital strategy, ideally in a B2B product. (end-to-end Logistics and Supply Chain is a bonus).
- Experience managing and influencing a diverse, global team of product managers, UX and design, content, marketing, and ecommerce, in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
- Strategic mindset and vision with a strong business acumen.
- Technical understanding of EDI/API standards and solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable workflows.
- Agile/Scrum capabilities.
- Sales capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder and change management - influence without authority and conflict resolution.
- Resilience, able to persist and adapt despite challenges.
- Leadership and presence, able to motivate and inspire self and others through change.
- Comfortable travelling up to 25% per annum.
