Senior Electrical Engineer – Energy Industries & Power-To-X

If you have a solid electrical background, we have a great job ready for you. Your focus will primarily be green transition centered on Power-To-X projects. These are based on advanced electrical systems with both medium voltage, low voltage, rectifiers, transformers and harmonic filters. You will have a technical lead role all the way from the initial needs dialogue via overall and specific design with subsequent engineering and final commissioning. You will have the overview and focus on the overall picture and additionally handle critical sub-areas in the projects, incl. calculations etc. The main part of the work will be handled by engineering colleagues in both Denmark, India and the Czech Republic on your guidance. Since Power-to-X is still so new, customers are often very doubtful. For this reason, we have been given a new role as both adviser and executor in the solution phase. If you bring experience from the consultancy industry it will be a perfect fit. However, it is not a requirement, as long as you are curious about the customers' wishes and needs. You can look forward to becoming part of a really good team with mutual backup, solid technical skills and a shared great belief in the future. ABB also massively supports your continued development with relevant education and training. You can freely choose whether you want to be based in Esbjerg together with the rest of the team or at our office in Aalborg, if you are just ready for frequent visits to Esbjerg. Approx. one day a week you are at customers’ sites/offices.
Your responsibilities
- Be the electrical Lead on Power-To-X projects all the way from initial dialogue to commissioning
- Prepare project designs with both medium voltage, low voltage, rectifiers, harmonic filters and transformers
- Specify the technique, come up with solution proposals and adapt them in close dialogue with the customers
- Manage the engineering part of the projects – both project management and hands-on
- Project management colleagues in Denmark, the Czech Republic and India
Your background
- Education as an electrical engineer or marine engineer
- Solid experience with project-oriented work
- Experience with design, procurement and commissioning of electrical installations
- Ability to proactively drive dialogue with customers and colleagues
- Motivation to deliver projects in close collaboration with our ABB colleagues from abroad
- Ability to think a little outside the box and try out new ideas
