As a Finance Business Partner in the Cost Innovation team, your role is to support the team in constantly look for how we can improve and optimize our Ocean Business from a cost perspective (USD 19bn).
The purpose of the cost innovation them is looking at cost across the ocean business, testing and validating hypothesis from the business on how to transform and make our Ocean Business more efficient, reducing unit cost, improving decision making, increasing recovery with customers and in general coming up with new ideas and bringing in inspiration from the outside to question the status quo of the business.
This is done both by building a pipeline of ideas/input from within the business and from outside, that are then tested and validated together with the business in close alignment with several senior executives with the ultimate purpose of implementing the best outcomes.
The purpose of Finance Business Partner is to provide analytical support for forward-looking financial and business-related projects. Additional, responsible for assisting in preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial/business analysis projects.
Key responsibilities
- Seek input from across the business and from the external market
- Analyzes the market and industry reports and data.
- Prepare internal and external benchmarks with the purpose of identifying new potentials/projects in Ocean Business
- Validate identified potentials with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Prepare high level implementation plans for new identified projects.
- Support the team in building solid and robust pipeline (for future improvements)
- Prepare the business cases to seek approval and alignment within the senior executive management team in Ocean business
- Support execution on projects and follow up on implementation. Prepare corrective actions if implementation deviates from the intended plan.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics, or any finance related degree combined with a minimum of two to four years’ experience as a junior financial analyst, or in a similar role.
Furthermore you:
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Data analytics and good IT skills
- Understanding of cost drivers in shipping
- The ability to analyse operational and financial data
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Innovating and taking initiatives
- Openminded and collaborative in nature
- A team player with cultural intelligence to work across the company
- Result and deadline-oriented and have the courage to challenge the current set up
- Drives with purpose and focus the standards at Maersk, listening to inputs while not deviating from achieving high quality outputs.
