What do we do

In IT Administration Office (IT CAO), Office of the CIO, our ambition is to create, implement and run central IT financial and operational processes around the framework of TBM (Technology Business Management), and from this support our stakeholders with key insights that allows Saxo to run the business of technology – like a business.

The key processes performed by the team to fulfil Saxo and Group technology ambition covers various Technology Business Management processes, IT Finance, Workforce Management, IT Communications, Vendor Governance and Risk Management. We support the CIO and IT Leadership Team in the development and tracking of Saxo’s IT Strategy response and execution.

How we support Technology

In the space of TBM, we run the IT Financial Management processes of making budgets, forecasts and monthly/quarterly follow up on plan vs actuals as well as closing the year in collaboration with our Finance Partners. On that foundation, we implement and run a cost transparency model for all technology spend across the bank, we make the hidden unhidden and create a platform for data driven decision making for a broad range of stakeholders.

Build on the basis of our cost allocation model the team works in the field of Business Capabilities (incl. Applications Total Cost of Ownership), which is a Capability model that stands as a blueprint of all Saxo Banks activities, allowing Group Technology and rest of the bank to have one view of capabilities where cost and revenue gets allocated to, allowing us to wipe out the silos and work as one across IT and “the business”. For IT we utilize the Capability model to provide key insights and advice on processes such as rationalization of the application portfolio, economize the sourcing and consumption of IT service and finally we play a key role in commercializing the way IT operates and interacts with business partners by shaping demand for IT services.

Work Force Management is a pillar whereby IT CAO partner with HR and our IT Leadership team to ensure Saxo is developing benchmark, talent, succession and day to day global resource plans with the optimal mix of capacity and competencies to meet Saxo’s strategic ambitions now and in the future.

For Vendor Governance the IT CAO Team has oversight of strategic and critical vendors, including our regulated relationships. We are here to support IT vendor managers through ongoing vendor profiling, risk and health assessments, and can provide guidance on best practices and tools to maximize the value we obtain from our partners, whilst managing the risk exposure from using third party products and services.

In support of continuous improvement, the IT CAO run an IT Communications working group with members from across IT. The aim is continually look at how we make information timely and relevant for the IT workforce. As part of this we support the CIO with global townhalls, maintain the IT intranet news pages and have regular deep dive session for Hot Topics on IT and business topics
