Are you motivated by new technologies and by driving innovation? Do you have a strong knowledge within development of chromatographic resins such as affinity, mixed mode and ion exchange resins? If yes, then you could be the experienced Principal Research Scientist that we are looking for. The position As part of our Research team in R&D, your core responsibility is to drive innovation, development, and optimal use of our future polymeric resin products. The aim is to deliver innovative, customised and high-quality solutions for our Pharma customers. You will be driving multiple research projects in lab in collaboration with other scientist and labtechs in R&D and leading collaborations with CROs. On a daily basis your tasks consist of: • Generating innovative ideas for new products • Creating and assessing new projects in collaboration with colleagues in Research and Strategic Marketing • Transferring projects to Manufacturing Development and Scouting the market for needs and opportunities • Maintaining a strong network with key stakeholders within the company, our close partners at Novo Nordisk as well as our external customers • Assisting customers in optimal use of our products The job contains some traveling days and it is expected that you participate in at least 2-3 conferences per year. Qualifications To excel in this position, you must hold a PhD or Masters’ degree within chemistry or similar field. In addition, you have the following qualifications: • 5+ years’ experience within Chemistry, Bioprocessing or other relevant fields from the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry • Specialised technical understanding of and hands on experience with polymeric resins; including development of affinity, ion exchange and mixed mode resins. • Hands-on experience with protein purification is considered an advantage. • Experience with project management is considered an advantage. • Fluent in written and spoken English and willingness to learn Danish if needed You are innovative and always have a finger on the pulse and thrive with finding new ways of performing technical assessments and troubleshooting. Strong networking and decision-making skills is a must and you are comfortable driving change. About the department The R&D Research team is responsible for the innovation of new products within enzymes, small molecules for drug product formulation, and various silica and polymer-based chromatography resins. We consist of 14 highly motivated and skilled scientist and laboratory technicians; our focus is on products for protein modification and purification as products for the ATMP market. We work closely with the R&D Manufacturing Development team and the Strategic Marketing team as well as several close collaborators at Novo Nordisk.
