Do you want to lead scientists and lab techs in their daily work? Do you know how to set the direction and the pace of ambitious initiatives in a development organization? Then you might be our new Associate Manager for one of the R&D Research teams at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech in Køge. The position We offer an exciting position where you will lead a growing team of 8 highly skilled scientists, lab techs, and supporting employees. Your main tasks will include: Setting the direction for the team ensuring prioritization and strategies are executed so the team can focus on the scientific aspects. Development of the employees and team to ensure we can improve our innovation abilities and the way we work while meeting our targets. Daily oversight of lab, including responsibility for the continuous development of our R&D lab facilities. The position has a high stakeholder collaboration across the organization, and you can expect to work closely with the other Research team, R&D Manufacturing Development, and commercial and academic partners and CROs. Qualifications To succeed in this position, you have a strong scientific background – this is the foundation on which you build your people management competencies on. Additionally, you: Hold PhD within organic chemistry, chemical engineering. biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field. Have min. 5 years of relevant work experience (after PhD), preferably from the biotech industry. Possess proven track record of hands-on experience with either project management, management of smaller science teams and/or supervision of PhD students and PostDocs. Are fluent in English; if Danish is not your native language, you are expected to learn. With a strategic mindset, you can work independently to drive decisions and processes forward and thrive in a high-paced and dynamic workday, prioritizing, and inspiring others. You have the ability for seeing the bigger picture and able to keep the eye on the ball in collaboration with stakeholders. You take great pride in developing your team and you do so by coaching, working with the culture and implementing a best practice toolbox. About the Department R&D Research is responsible for the innovation of new products within enzymes, proteins and peptides for cell culture, small molecules for drug product formulation, and chromatography resins. We consist of 24 highly motivated and skilled scientists and laboratory technicians. We work closely with the R&D Manufacturing Development team and the Strategic Marketing team as well as several close collaborators at Novo Nordisk and within academia.
