The position Oral drug delivery is a key component of our company’s strategy, and your role as Principal Scientist in Oral Formulation Research plays an important part in our continuous journey to innovate on oral drug products. Your main objective will be to formulate therapeutic proteins and peptides into oral solid dosage forms and participate in the development of innovative oral drug delivery systems. Innovation and scientific development are key parts of your role, you will handle specialist tasks of high complexity and coordinate work in the lab across functions and people to develop and optimize our research. By contributing with subject matter expertise in oral formulation and extensive business understanding, you drive innovation and project progression and provide input to project plans, data, scientific challenges, and deliberations. You demonstrate good stakeholder management and cross-collaboration skills. Working alongside talented international colleagues, you will share ideas and inspiration across different scientific areas. A part of your job will be to act as a mentor for junior colleagues within your field of expertise. Qualifications You hold a relevant PhD degree in Life Science (Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Medical Engineering, or related disciplines) and have a minimum of 8 years of experience in industry or academia including a couple of years’ focus on early-stage research. To be a successful candidate we expect you to have: A track record of research within advanced drug delivery and expertise in oral formulation Extensive experience in developing oral drug products including oral solid dosage forms Experience with in vitro and in vivo testing of oral formulations and drug products Insight into the physiology of the GI tract Business understanding and cross-functional stakeholder management skills Personally, you are driven by the basic tenet of science – to take on something that people think cannot be done, and to go way beyond where we are today. You apply your creativity to find solutions to the scientific challenges you encounter during your research, and you share knowledge and experience freely with other scientists, lab technicians and researchers to further our common cause. About the department At Oral Formulation Research in Måløv, Denmark, you will join an international, ambitious and collaborative research team. Our shared goal is to develop new formulation concepts that enable oral drug delivery of peptide and protein drugs for type 2 diabetes as well as other serious chronic diseases.
