Maersk Corporate Real Estate is looking for an Assistant Category Manager for Real Estate. Maersk Corporate Real Estate is part of the Indirect Procurement team placed in Asset Strategy & Strategic Partnerships.

Maersk Corporate Real Estate sits with the global responsibility for the Maersk office portfolio, consisting of plus 500 office leases across the world.

Our role encompasses portfolio strategy and management, workplace design, transaction management, property sale, investments, and facility management. You will engage, drive, and work together with the team and stakeholders to develop and deliver on the Maersk Corporate Real Estate strategy.

As the Assistant Category Manager, you will work closely with the other Category Managers and global stakeholders and will have good opportunity to explore our business and make connections and learnings from across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing the strategy for the office portfolio
  • Proactive owning the Real Estate scope for your appointed Region.
  • Own the lease transaction management & negotiation process end to end.
  • Own and deliver on strategic initiatives incl our ESG agenda.
  • Managing our external suppliers
  • Engaging a large community of stakeholders, often at senior level, both internally and externally
  • Deliver on profit and savings targets on leases and divestments.

The overall real estate strategy targets reductions in office expenses and asset optimization, while securing efficient and effective, sustainable workplaces for our colleagues. Typical projects include office relocations/optimizations, co-locations, divestment projects, acquisitions, project management, and space optimization. You will have the opportunity to deliver on all types of Real Estate engagement.

Who we are looking for

Our employees represent various educational backgrounds, work experience and nationalities - most important to us are your skills. You must be structured and self-driven with strong attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills.

We are looking for:

  • Relevant qualification to degree level in procurement, business, commerce, or equivalent experience.
  • Some relevant experience preferably with Real Estate management or similar.
  • Some experience in contract management, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing procurement processes.
  • You love to work with numbers and presenting financial insights and models.
  • You are good at power BI, Power point or other presentation medias.
  • You are a result driven and solution focused individual with the ability to manage a variety of tasks in parallel.
  • You value people’s ethics and have natural flair for stakeholder management.

Being fluent in English, both written and spoken is a prerequisite.
