Key Responsibilities
As Lead Buyer in the Contracts & Procurement (C&P) department, you will be able to shape and develop a central role with great influence in ensuring effective pre and post award Contract Management. The role offered will be to support tenders/contracts for the key Wells/Drilling and Logistics functions.
This is with the possibility to continuously learn and develop your competencies in an interdisciplinary environment, where your main role is to understand the business requirements from key internal stakeholders, translate those requirements into effective Request for Quotations (RFQ) or Call for Tenders (CFT), and challenge the external providers (suppliers) to provide technically acceptable and cost-effective solutions to support our operations. You will get to use your knowledge and experience applying a range of techniques when executing all procurement negotiations, contracts, and agreements in an efficient and commercially sound manner, as well as being in regular contact with local and international suppliers. You will also be the gatekeeper to ensuring that the business adheres to the Company rules for contracts and procurement.
Overall, you have the responsibility to prepare tenders, conduct evaluations of received bids with internal stakeholders, negotiate with bidders, and finalize/issue contracts in respect of all Company rules. Furthermore, you will lead cross functional teams consisting of business end users, contract owners, finance, HSE, legal colleagues in the end-to-end sourcing process. Finally, you are responsible for supporting the business in the management of the contractor community.

Areas of responsibilities will include tasks such as:
- Conduct market intelligence activities to ensure Company has proper benchmarks for related categories
- Challenge and ensure team have applied both technical and commercial optimization in any contracting strategy by applying thorough scope demand management, standardized specifications, and cost consciousness
- Liaise with other affiliates globally and TOTALENERGIES Group Procurement (TGP) to ensure optimization of value by leveraging on best practices and economies of scale
- Drive functional excellence in the C&P department through streamlined local and global processes
- Facilitate effective Supplier Relationship Management, including engagement with TGP to establish top quartile Key Performance Indicators with relevant Suppliers
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure optimum stock/inventory management is practiced for relevant categories
- Drive effective Contract Management in line with Contract Management best practices to manage risks associated with contracted materials and/or service delivery in order to achieve technical, HSE, statutory and commercial performance objectives
- Prepare and present cases to Local affiliate Contracts Committee (CC), Contracts Boards and Branch CC where applicable
- Coordinate interactions between multiple stakeholders e.g., asset, end users, finance, HSE, legal, TGP, affiliate management on C&P related matters
- Ensure the good administration, filing and update of all the documents in SAP or the central drive
- Ensure that all approvals, justifications, circulation forms are filed in line with the applicable procedures.
