The Role
As Project Manager for outsourced product development, you will be the project lead in the outsourcing project team and have a close cooperation with the Product Program Manager. You will be responsible for the R&D deliveries internal as well as external. Furthermore, as project lead you will be driving the Program Management Team in close cooperation with a team of cross functional project managers across the organization.
Your responsibilities will be to facilitate creation the project setup with external and internal suppliers. Create overview and transparency of complex internal and external R&D activities as well as dependencies to other areas. Create trust and build relationships with external and internal suppliers. Set clear expectations and achieve results by delegating, motivating, and creating team spirit.
As responsible for the R&D activities you will together with the architect dedicated for outsourcing and other key persons identify the technical stepping-stones needed to succeed with the outsourcing product projects.
To become a success in the job you should be able to communicate clearly and understand the importance of stakeholder management on all levels. You should have experience with leading larger cross-function product development projects (preferably with both HW and SW deliveries). You should be able to work in a hybrid setup with both agile development and stage gate project management.
Your educational background is most likely an engineering degree. Experience working with SAFe development is considered a plus, however most importantly you should have a solid project management toolbox as well as experience working with external partners.
