We are looking for a
Legal Counsel
to join our group organization. As our business continues to grow, our legal needs are becoming more complex and expansive. By joining us, you play a pivotal role in helping us navigate the intricate legal issues in the fast-growing energy sector.
You are liaising closely with both internal and external stakeholders. Internally, you are partnering with Nevel management as well as sales, M&A, project management, and procurement teams. Your supervisor, Legal Director, will be your closest sparring partner.
Your main accountabilities will be to
- Counsel on significant legal cases, especially related to company law and our industrial sales or execution projects, as well as operative business
- Provide independent oversight and management of commercial agreements vital to Nevel’s operations and growth, e.g., related to energy supply agreements, M&A, joint ventures, real estate, financing, and procurement
- Draft precise legal opinions, risk assessments, and provide general support to our business, such as non-disclosure agreements and letters of intent
- Offer expert advice on legal disputes
- Ensure compliance with energy and environmental regulation and Nevel’s internal policies
- Collaborate with external legal advisors on specialized matters.
What we expect
- Master of Laws (LL.M.)
- 3-5 years of working experience, preferably from a law firm or an in-house legal counsel position
- Experience in contract law and general business law
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in general
- Preferably, experience in energy and infrastructure, project business or construction
- Fluency in Finnish and English; proficiency in Swedish language is a plus.
