Our legal M&A team
As our new M&A legal counsel in Demant you will become part of the Projects and M&A team in the global Group Legal & Compliance function.
The Projects and M&A team is a small and dynamic team with close contact to top management and a direct dialogue with the global Demant organization. The team is part of the Group Legal & Compliance team consisting of more than 45 skilled and motivated lawyers around the world, including Denmark, France, Poland, Australia, Canada and USA. We have a great team spirit and a good working environment.
What to expect
As M&A legal counsel in the Projects and M&A team, you will be close to the decision-making processes in Demant and work closely with the business. The role is highly international, and you will work with acquisitions and projects around the world. You will be interacting directly with a diverse range of stakeholders and support the Demant Group globally with your advice concerning different M&A transactions.
You will refer to the Senior Director, Projects and M&A and be situated in Demant’s headquarters in Smørum, Denmark.
You will experience a truly diverse and interesting working day, where you encounter a variety of tasks including:
When carrying out your tasks, you will work with colleagues in Finance, Operations, R&D, Marketing, subsidiaries around the world as well as senior legal colleagues and external advisors. You will obtain an in-depth understanding of the Demant business.
A limited amount of travelling can be expected.
Your qualifications include that you:
To succeed in this position you are self-driven, proactive, and dynamic and find it easy to establish and maintain personal relations across a large and global organization with multiple interfaces on different levels of the organization. You have furthermore a high level of integrity and systematic approach to all your tasks.

As M&A legal counsel in the Projects and M&A team, you will be close to the decision-making processes in Demant and work closely with the business. The role is highly international, and you will work with acquisitions and projects around the world. You will be interacting directly with a diverse range of stakeholders and support the Demant Group globally with your advice concerning different M&A transactions.
You will refer to the Senior Director, Projects and M&A and be situated in Demant’s headquarters in Smørum, Denmark.
You will experience a truly diverse and interesting working day, where you encounter a variety of tasks including:
- Manage M&A processes – due diligence, negotiating and structuring – through our local organizations and on a global level
- Assist on larger projects, e.g. strategic partnerships
- Integrate acquired companies in the corporate structure and processes of Demant
- Prepare and present acquisition opportunities to the Demant management team
- Assisting in managing the Demant Group’s corporate structure across multiple jurisdictions
When carrying out your tasks, you will work with colleagues in Finance, Operations, R&D, Marketing, subsidiaries around the world as well as senior legal colleagues and external advisors. You will obtain an in-depth understanding of the Demant business.
A limited amount of travelling can be expected.
Your qualifications include that you:
- Have a degree in law (cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or equivalent)
- Have at least 2-3 years’ experience from either a law firm or as an in-house counsel, preferably working with M&A
- Have a good understanding of commercial issues and the ability to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of legal advice
- Are a dedicated team player and have great interpersonal skills and a good interaction with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Have excellent English proficiency as this is the Demant Group corporate language.
