DFDS is currently looking for an experienced, visionary and proactive Director of Communications with excellent leadership skills and a passion for driving high impact internal and external communication in an international setting.

In the role as Director of Communications, you will be working out of our newly inaugurated head office in Copenhagen and report to the EVP and Chief People Officer. You will be joining DFDS at a time where we are working towards becoming carbon neutral in 2050 by taking a leading role within decarbonization. At the same time, our ambition for growth has led to a recent and ongoing drumbeat of acquisitions all over Europe, driving a strong need for cultural integration.

- Developing and executing all communication around DFDS’ strategic agenda
- Setting strategic direction for corporate internal communications
- Acting as trusted advisor to top management and spokespeople, providing inspiration, training and advice in driving and communicating cultural and organisational change
- Developing a framework for DFDS’ PR strategy, including strategic direction for external communication activities across business areas and countries
- Providing strong proactive leadership to maintain a positive business climate that stresses teamwork and success
- Providing a strong mentoring/coaching leadership to the direct reports
About you

With this in mind we belive the ideal person for this position will have the following qualifications:
- Min 10 years’ of senior communication experience with similar responsibilities from an international organisation, including extensive experience acting as a trusted advisor to senior management
- 3-5 years of management experience from a large organisation, including strong ability to lead and motivate people to be proactive and drive change. Experience with cross-border line management is a plus
- Strong and documented competencies with internal and external stakeholder management
- Experienced in integrated communication, including development and implementation of communication strategy and derived action plans
- In-depth advisory experience from serving executive level in a complex, international organisation
- Proven track record of getting valuable exposure and optimal messaging
- Demonstrated ability to lead and engage highly qualified teams. The ideal candidate can work bottom-up through people due to his/her inspirational leadership style
