As Management consultant, Finance, you will be a part of Corporate Strategy function in VIKING that works with several strategic disciplines. That involves facilitating the corporate strategy process, supporting business development activities, providing an overview of projects, and supporting the acquisition process. Additionally, the function works as internal consultants in the VIKING group. You will join a small, dedicated, and an energetic team of colleagues, which has a high-level responsibility, exposure, and focus from top management.
The position
As Management Consultant, Finance, you will work with a wide range of projects. This includes business cases, M&A activity and various projects. You will also be a part of the task force working with the Corporate strategy process, including identifying and assessing attractive future growth opportunities and potential risks to the business. The outcome of this is to define the strategic options that determine VIKING’s future direction.
A majority of your time will be spent working in teams to solve internal VIKING consultancy jobs. Here you will use all aspects of your toolbox, in order to succeed in solving challenging tasks. In this function, you will provide balanced, objective, enterprise-level advice to relevant stakeholders, and spearhead the analytical process, to make sure recommendations are valid. Your key role here will be to bridge the strategic initiatives and the financial discipline, to make sure they are interlinked and possible to track performance.
In this job, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with senior stakeholders, gain insights into the business, and become a trusted partner to group management and the line of business. You will need outstanding communication skills to discuss business in clear and simple terms and must be capable of challenging, interacting, and negotiating with the upper management on strategic issues. You must also possess analytical skills to make sure decisions are based on data and facts, to the maximum extent possible.
While this position does not have direct people management responsibilities, the leadership of projects through influence and developing followership is critical. The team structure will provide many opportunities for informal leadership through project working groups, mentoring, and sparring, and you will be involved in identifying and developing talent within the team.
The position will report directly to our Vice President of Strategy & Digital.
Your profile
You have an educational background in economics or finance, at a master's degree level. In the best case, you have +5 years of experience in working with corporate finance, either from consultancy, venture/investments setting, or from a corporate finance/strategy function.
As a person, you are recognized for your strong analytical mindset and stakeholder management skills. You have a track record of handling projects in a global context, on behalf of senior management. You have excellent communication skills.
You will interact with a multitude of functions across the global organization and be in regular contact with Group Management, thus you should be capable of and comfortable with working and interacting at all organizational levels. You thrive in a busy global environment, bring a can-do attitude, and maintain a sense of humor, even when the workload is high.
You are ambitious, have attention to detail, and deliver high-quality results at a pace. You are a team player and value winning together, but can also work independently. You have excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills. You are success orientated and change-ready, are a professional, and work with integrity and an enterprise mindset.
This position will include up to 40 international travel days a year.
