We are looking for a laboratory technician to support the work of the Metabolomics Platform to commence December 1, 2023, or after agreement.
About us
Our researchers share a common purpose as they seek to transform the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in cardiometabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge towards new prevention and treatment strategies.
The Center has around 260 employees, spread across 22 research groups and 5 technology platforms, who work in a vibrant international research environment with a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Center’s research has resulted in seminal discoveries as to how genes, hormones, and environmental factors influence metabolic health and disease throughout life. You can read more about CBMR at www.cbmr.ku.dk.
The metabolomics platform is a research platform at CBMR, aiming to develop and perform metabolite analysis in the research programs at the Center. You can read more about the platform here.
Your tasks
A part-time laboratory technician position is available at the Metabolomics Platform. The work includes carrying out sample preparation in various biological sample matrices for metabolomics and lipidomics analysis on specific projects, preparing standard compounds and calibration curves for the mass spectrometry analysis. In addition, the position will involve responsibility for organizing and dissolving a large number of standard compounds for library preparation at the platform. The position includes close contacts with Staff at the metabolomics platform and the Moritz group.

The place of employment is in Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Maersk Tower, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment.
Terms of salary and employment
The employment as Laboratory Technician is a part-time employment (15 hours/week) position for 1 year. Expected starting date is December 1, 2023.
Employment as Laboratory Technician will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 3.
Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated.

Your profile
Essential criteria:
- A degree as Laboratory Technician
- An extensive practical experience with laboratory work.
- Knowledge in quality assessment.
- Excellent skills in documentation of laboratory work
- Experiences in working with chemical data base system Kemibrug.
- Experiences in electronic lab note work
- Experience in sample preparation for metabolite/metabolomics analysis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is a requirement
Desirable criteria:
- Experience with, and skills in:
- Preparation of quality control samples and calibration curves
- Use of a liquid handling robot
