Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transport Manager to manage and optimize our transport operations throughout our store network. The Transport Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient transfer of goods from our warehouse to our stores.

Responsibilities:

The Transport Function is an important service function for the stores. Thus, as Transport Manager, your overall leadership responsibility is ensuring effective and reliable transport to and goods delivery at the stores. Your overall management responsibility is ensuring efficient and easy to do processes within customs clearance, shipping, documentation, and monitoring. Your most important focus areas will be:

Operation:

  • Reliable execution of booking and document procedures.
  • Follow-up on timeliness and communication by transport companies
  • Swift response and solution to any transport irregularity occurred on the way to the stores.
  • Pragmatic solutions to problems raised by the stores.
  • Optimisation of processes

Management:

  • Delivery plans for stores
  • Performance follow-up on transporters
  • Tendering process
  • KPIs and analytics

Leadership:

  • Team performance
  • Development of employees
  • Development of Transport function
  • Proactive communication with stakeholders

Requirements and skills

Professional skills:

If you are the ideal candidate, then you will also possess experience in freight forwarding and customs handling, demonstrating an adeptness at managing the intricacies of cross-border cargo transportation while ensuring adherence to customs regulations. In the realm of customer support, this individual has accumulated valuable expertise, showcasing a proficiency in addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and offering tailored solutions to accommodate diverse logistical requirements. Furthermore, a background in conducting freight analyses highlights the capability to leverage data-driven insights effectively. This skill is utilized to optimize shipping routes, minimize expenditures, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Additionally, a proven track record is evident in the meticulous follow-up on delivery performance. This entails ensuring timely arrival of shipments at designated destinations and maintaining transparent communication channels with stakeholders throughout the delivery process.

Personal skills:

We're looking for a skilled Manager with a track record of leading teams of 10+ members. Your experience in stakeholder communication, coupled with your ability to convey expectations clearly, in both Danish and English, verbally and in writing, will be crucial to fostering collaboration and driving success.

Place of employment:
You will work at our warehouse north of Horsens in Gedved. We are in the process of establishing a new logistics centre in Hedensted that will start operation in September 2023, and which eventually will be your permanent workplace.
