As Shipping Coordinator at Aalborg Portland, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient coordination of our shipping operations. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing the sea transportation of bulk and bagged cement products from our production plant to terminals and customer sites. This dynamic role requires collaboration with various teams, excellent communication skills, and a keen focus on optimizing inventory management.

Your profile
Preferably, you are educated within shipping and possess a minimum of 3+ years of work experience as a shipping coordinator or in a similar role. You should demonstrate a solid understanding of the shipping world, including its customs and terminology.
It is crucial that you thrive in a dynamic environment and collaborate effectively as a team player, given your close cooperation with other planning functions. While experience with SAP is not mandatory, it is certainly beneficial.

The following outlines your primary responsibilities:
Coordinate Shipping Operations
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate sea transportation of cement products.
- Collaborate with production planners to ensure timely product availability for shipping.
- Align customer requirements with vessel schedules.
Inventory Management
- Maintain stock levels of bulk cement products at terminals across Northern Europe.
- Monitor and optimize performance in terms of costs and delivery efficiency.
Customer Communication
- Proactively communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules and shipment status.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries related to shipping.
Documentation
- Document and manage material flows in the company-wide ERP system (SAP).
Handling of Invoices
- Process invoices related to shipping activities.
- Prepare customer invoices, including any potential demurrage charges.
Miscellaneous
- Handle miscellaneous/ad hoc tasks related to shipping.
Your profile
