Principal Software Engineer (Denmark/UK/Singapore/India)

We are currently looking for a Principal Software Engineer who could be based in Copenhagen - Denmark, Maidenhead - UK, Singapore, or India.

The Principal Software Engineer will report into the Vice President for the Logistics and Services Platform Portfolio Technology Leader. They are trusted by the company to ship complex software, self-direct in line with the company’s objectives, foster team spirit, offer platform-level impact, and increase technology awareness by participating in events and sharing useful content. Also, the Principal Engineer spends most of the time designing/documenting large-scale systems, writing reference code, improving processes, mentoring new senior engineers, providing advice, and setting the bar for quality.

In addition, the Principal Software Engineer facilitates internal discussions and inspires other engineers by directing their work to meet best-in-class and category standards. He or she, therefore, serves both as a role model and a mentor to every single member of the technical team. The right candidate will possess a unique combination of unparalleled dedication to the craft and a fervent desire to transform and improve the technology landscape.

Some key roles and responsibilities include:

• The principal Engineer should understand the business strategy and align with the priorities, converting them to technological solutions with non-functional KPIs.
  
  
• Refined knowledge and experience with Java, C#, .NET, Kotlin, JS, React, Typescript,
  
  
• Cloud-native micro services, hybrid cloud environment preferably Azure and container technologies Kubernetes, Terraform, and Puppet
  
  
• Database experience would be essential too, Dynamo and PostgreSQL
  
  
• Flutter would be nice to have, but not essential
  
  
• A principal engineer is responsible for the internal communication to rally people around the tech cause, enabling success at the executive and team level.
  
  
• creates efficiency where it does not exist. He or she is expected to be 3 steps ahead of the company’s needs, providing solutions that improve efficiency/scalability for years to come.
  
  
• is a force multiplier. They become an enabler for team through collaboration and technical solutions.
  
  
• responsible for Depth as well as breadth. He or she is an expert in some areas and has good general knowledge about software engineering. It is not just about software development.
  
  
• Dots the i’s and crosses the t’s. Beyond writing code, he or she leads by example and take care of the details.
  
  
• Creates technology awareness. He or she is one of the key faces of engineering inside and out the company and enables awareness of the company while attracting talent and participating in tech conferences.
  
  
• Drives engineering culture and craft he or she is an example of a craftsman and helps others to adopt the engineering culture and craft.
