My name is Camilla Hansson, I am the Global Head of People Operations in Svitzer – and I am looking for a People Advisor to join our team, supporting the Svitzer Head Office and Global Functions from Nordhavn, Copenhagen.

Svitzer is a towage company, which means we help our customers manoeuvre their larger ships safely and timely in and out of ports. We operate globally. Most of our business is to support container vessels, cargo ships, cruise ships and navy vessels but we also attend to emergencies like vessels being adrift or offshore fires. What you can look forward to

An exciting role as part of both a local and a global team with experienced colleagues, working closely together with the People Partner and Head of People & Culture for our Global functions in Copenhagen. It is a newly created setup, so there is plenty opportunity to help shape things. We have flexible working hours, the possibility to work from home, and good employee benefits.

What you will do

You will be responsible for people operations across the global functions, providing general support on the employee life cycle and moments that matter – for example onboarding, internal moves, relocation, leave, and offboarding. You make the lives of our people easier by running the people operations space smoothly, with a high service delivery and timely resolution of day to day queries.

You will be our local system super-user and compliance hero, providing administrative support to your colleagues, as well as our employees and leaders. You will be an active and proactive partner in the Global Operations Team and build a network with counterparts in other regions across the globe. Tasks include:

  • Advising on people policies and guidelines in a way that creates a great experience for our employees and leaders

  • Maintenance of employee data timely and correctly in Workday and ensure correct data flow to Finance, who handle payroll through an external vendor

  • Coordination and optimization of core people processes (i.e. on- and offboarding) to ensure compliance with GDPR law and internal policies

  • Supporting the People Partner with recruitment processes

  • Initiation and coordination of global mobility for employees moving between countries

  • Providing structured administrative support of various projects, contracts, handbooks and guidelines, forecasts, and other operational tasks

  • Guiding employees and leaders in using self-service in Workday and other HR systems


What you will need to succeed

You are a well-organized and service minded professional with a successful track record and 3-5 years of experience. You are IT savvy, perhaps with Workday experience, and you are interested in becoming a super user. You have experience with Danish employment law, salary processes, and global mobility, and you understand that great people operations are the foundation for any successful strategic initiatives.

You thrive as the subject matter expert and main point of contact for people related questions, whether they are about the practicalities of onboarding, holiday accrual, parental leave, or how to perform an action in Workday. You are structured, have an eye for details, and is a team player who communicates effectively. You have excellent English skills and a good understanding of Danish.
