Maersk is looking for an Analytics Engineer to help us accelerate our efforts into becoming an integrated logistics provider. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with data and have the expertise to utilize data to derive insights, answer business questions and drive growth.

You will be working in the Network Strategy team supporting multiple teams within Ocean Delivery Performance, Ocean Network Design, and Modernization.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support our analytical and business needs for operations.
  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to solve complex problems and drive business decisions that will help us achieve our strategic goals.
  • Write high quality SQL/PySpark code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables, and learn and understand a broad range of Maersk data sources.
  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.

Basic qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Science or related field
  • Demonstrated strength in SQL, PySpark, data modeling, ETL development, and data visualization.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant analytical work experience in a role requiring application of analytic skills to integrate data into operational/business planning.
  • Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Power BI
  • Develop and present recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering).
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required.
  • Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data.
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
