Mainframe Competence Manager

We are looking for a Mainframe Competence Manager ready to share and grow

Primary task and responsibilities

In the position of Mainframe Competence Manager, you will work closely with the whole Mainframe community in the Warsaw office, Development Directors and other Managers. The constant challenge of the role will be developing the Mainframe competencies of BEC employees in accordance with the market and corporate needs, as well as providing feedback on company processes and proposing changes when needed.

Your primary tasks and responsibilities will be as follows:

Drive and support the Mainframe competence development in BEC

• Setting direction for utilisation of and execution of improvements for Mainframe Developer profile
• Driving onboarding, recruitment, Mainframe academy, CoPs and organising trainings
• Promote Mainframe best practices across BEC
• Development of graduates and other juniors and improve the talent training programme (include IBM Z, Cobol, CICS, DevOps)
• Keep updated with new technologies and best practices in the Mainframe field and facilitate Community of Practice between different domains and centralized Mainframe team
• Participate in business development of BEC Poland
• Support and facilitate team efficiency, process improvement initiatives, SDLC or ITIL services

Preferably, you have:

• Educational background at Master or Bachelor level in Computer Science or similar experience
• Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and technologies
• Extensive experience in Cobol and Mainframe architectures:
  Technical stack: z/OS, Cobol, CICS, JCL, IBM DB2
  Tool stack: IBM Developer for Z Systems, Git(BitBucket), PCOM (Personal Communications), VS Code, RSE APIs, Zowe
  Surrounding systems: Kafka, MQ, Java, Spring Boot
  Hardware: IBM Z15
• Strong background in coding or architecture role
• Mainframe Modernization experience would be a plus
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
