We are looking for a Training Specialist to drive development projects for VIKING Safety Academy - a global expert provider of training and competence development in the maritime and offshore industries, with 8+ own training sites globally.

About the position
The Safety Academy training programs focus on the operation and maintenance of VIKING products including lifeboats, rescue boats, evacuation systems and liferafts.

You will join a great team of 5 dedicated colleagues at the VIKING headquarters in Esbjerg, Denmark and refer to the Training Development Manager.

As a VIKING Training Specialist you have a varied role and you operate globally in close collaboration with the Training Development Manager. Together with the team, as well as independently, you will nurture and drive the value-based development of training projects and contribute to our ability to meet VIKING's ambitions for training now and in the future.

Primary tasks:

  • Manage internal and external training development projects
  • Design “state-of-the art“ content, optimizing our training portfolio for shipowners, crew and internal use
  • Maintain and improve VIKING product specific maritime courses for seafarers
  • Support our global subsidiaries on commercial matters
  • Act as a ‘super user’ for IT systems and e-learning platforms
  • Carry out administrative ad-hoc support tasks

Depending on the different development projects you should expect up to 20 travel days globally per year.

Necessary skillset
The ideal person has a commercial mind-set and experience from a similar position, preferably within the maritime industry. Further, a positive and result-oriented attitude.

You have strong project management skills and the ability to independently drive projects forward. Knowledge about training and industry requirements, would be an advantage.

  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
  • Good time-management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to learn and understand standards and regulations in the maritime industry
  • Excellent spoken and written English. Knowledge of Danish is preferable
  • Thrive in an active environment and manage staying focused on tasks, goals and deadlines

The desired person already lives in Denmark and is interested in an outgoing position, where the work is primarily carried out at HQ.
