The job

The Dean of Academic Affairs for BSc (Hons) Business Studies will set academic priorities and strategic goals that reflect the College’s strategic plan, in cooperation with the Executive Vice President.

The Dean will work in collaboration with the academic staff and administrators to develop and implement a sound, effective, innovative, and engaging undergraduate educational programmes characterised by excellence and to establish an environment that facilitates meaningful interactions between students and teaching staff. The programme has been running in Copenhagen since 2019 and is being taught out so emphasis is on ensuring the student experience whilst working with transitioning staff to other programmes. There are currently more than 950 students enrolled in the programme.

Job profile

The Dean of Academic Affairs will head the BSc (Hons) Business Studies programme. The Dean will play a pivotal role in facilitating the collaboration between students, staff and external partners. The Dean will oversee student progression, academic content, staff enhancement, quality assurance and reporting to partners and stakeholders.

The Dean is a member of the College’s management team and reports to the Executive Vice President.

For almost 25 years, Niels Brock Copenhagen Business College has offered a range of British university degrees in cooperation with De Montfort University, Leicester. We are currently offering BA (Hons) in Business Administration, BSc (Hons) Business Studies, BA (Hons) Business Management, BSc (Hons) Computer Science.

The campus is located at Bispetorvet 1-3, and Nørre Voldgade 34 – both centrally located in Copenhagen.

About you

You are an experienced academic who genuinely enjoys interacting with international students in a multinational and diversified faculty. In addition to excellent communicative skills, you have a keen eye for detail and deadlines as well as a natural focus on continuous improvement. As Dean you are goal-oriented and focused on facilitating the dynamics of the department.

Qualifying applicants

Applicants must show a keen interest in being part of the management of a department in constant change. The right applicant should be well structured and be able to work closely with a diversified group of stakeholders with – at times – conflicting interests.

The applicant must have solid English proficiency, be well acquainted with the particular academic needs of international students, and solid teaching experience, preferably on a Postgraduate level. Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree.

As we are an international department, Danish is not a requirement.

Terms of Employment

The position of Dean of Academic Affairs is a full-time position.

Employment as per agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the AC trade union.
