In the role, your primary function will be to develop analytical trading tools, market insights and price forecasting to support our Australian power trading team. You will work closely with the traders and bring new ideas to help improve trading decisions and grow the desk.Concretely, your areas of responsibility will include the following:Concretely, your areas of responsibility will include the following:
  • support the Australian power trading team in developing, executing and managing trading strategies
  • maintain and develop price forecasting models and proactively share and identify trading opportunities in close collaboration with the lead trader
  • proactively develop trading tools to improve trading decisions and execution and participate in discussions on how to best optimise trading performance
  • build, maintain and lead our analytical platform for Australian power trading

In the team, we trade APAC power markets and you will join the Australian desk, which trades power derivatives via the power exchange ASX. As a team, our primary area of responsibility is to develop the APAC trading business as part of Danske Commodities’ corporate strategy on global expansion.Working as an analyst, we imagine that you are motivated by crunching numbers and that you thrive on working in a dynamic and ever-changing environment . We’re looking for someone who takes both a holistic and analytical approach to the job and makes sure to have an eye for market risk while at the same time finding it natural to evaluate other factors in the analyses.   • have experience working in power markets (ideally the Australian NEM)
  • hold a BSc degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics or other quantitative disciplines
  • have extensive programming experience (Python, R, SQL or similar) with strong mathematical, finance, or statistical expertise
  • are eligible to work in Singapore and are fluent in English
  • are curious about fundamental market development and trading dynamics in energy markets
  • have experience working in power markets (ideally the Australian NEM)hold a BSc degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics or other quantitative disciplineshave extensive programming experience (Python, R, SQL or similar) with strong mathematical, finance, or statistical expertiseare eligible to work in Singapore and are fluent in Englishare curious about fundamental market development and trading dynamics in energy marketsYou can read more about our recruitment process here.
